Carissa Kainani Moore<\/strong> is a professional surfer who was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA <\/strong>on August 27, 1992. She is a surfing legend who has won the ASP World Tour <\/strong>4 times within her career. Carissa, along with John Florence in men’s surfing, are the greatest exponents of surfing worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of her most recent performances was seen in 2019, when Moore<\/strong> claimed her fourth world title in her homeland, Maui. This meant Carissa’s<\/strong> qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games<\/strong> on behalf of the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carissa\u2019s Beginnings in the World of Surfing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carissa <\/strong>started surfing at the age of 5 as she practiced with her father on the beaches of Waikiki. <\/strong>From the beginning of her career, she was an exceptional surfer, dominating all the events in which she participated. During her amateur career, she accumulated a total of 11 national titles<\/strong>, and when she began her professional career, she reached the Championship Tour (CT) in 2010<\/strong>. Carissa became a serious threat in the surfing world as she was a strong competitor for achieving the surfing titles, and particularly the reign that Stephanie Gilmore <\/strong>held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2010 was Carissa\u2019s rookie season as she broke all paradigms in the field of women\u2019s surfing. During this season, she managed to win 2 main events of the CT<\/strong>, which led her to occupy third place in the world<\/strong>. In the following year, she came back even stronger, winning 3 main events and as a result, she won her first world title<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Championship Tour<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2010 to 2015, Carissa and Stephanie<\/strong> shared the trophy between them, in which there were many battles full of action and emotion. Carissa and Stephanie have the best rivalry to exist in women\u2019s surfing, but despite their competition, there is only respect, amazement, and professionalism between the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all sports there are ups and downs, surfing is no exception. For the 4-time world champion, the most difficult years have been between 2015 and 2017. During this time, Carissa only won one main event and fell to number 5 in the women’s world surfing rankings. However, in 2018, Moore<\/strong> returned with a fight and won two first place positions at the Surf Ranch Pro and on Maui<\/strong>, and immediately climbed to third place in the rankings.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carissa recently competed in the Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona<\/strong>, where she won the first heat with a score of 13.73<\/strong> over Australian Anderson and North American Erickson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
