Isabella Nichols <\/strong>is a 23-year-old Australian surfer from Coolum Beach, Queensland. She has been surfing since she was nine years old, and in addition to being a surfer, she is also a mechanical engineering student at Deakin University. Nichols has in her track record the Junior World Championship from January 2016, along with being ranked 20th in the Women’s QS series. The next event <\/strong>that Isabella Nichols will compete in will be the Sunset Open<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isabella Nichols is a strong and fierce surfer. She endured a terrifying moment at the Margaret River Pro when she was trapped underwater during her Round of 16 heat. Nichols had just completed a wave, when she was pushed by lime over rocks and coral, in which her leg rope got caught in a coral and held her underwater for about five seconds before she was able to pull it out and return to the surface. Fortunately, she was able to conquer this moment and come out stronger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isabella Nichols\u2019 Best Performances<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. <\/strong>The best performance Isabella Nichols has had since she made her professional debut in the world of surfing was at the Rip Curl Newcastle Cup this year. At this event, she came in second place with 8.34 points, behind Carissa Moore, the number 1 surfer of the Women’s CT 2021 who obtained 15.73 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. <\/strong>Another of Nichols\u2019 best performances was at the Boost Mobile Margaret River Pro held in May, where she came in fifth place. In this tournament, she fell behind Carissa Moore once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. <\/strong>This year she also placed fifth at the Rip Curl Rottnest where she lost to Carissa Moore who defeated her by 2 points, 16.53 to 14.43.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. <\/strong>Her first event as a professional was in 2016 at the Roxy Pro Gold Coast. She had a great performance for her debut, however, she lost in Round 2 to Courtney Conlogue after scoring 9.93 points while Conlogue  scored 15.87 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isabella Nichols\u2019 Next Event<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next event that Isabella Nichols will participate in will be the Sunset Open <\/strong>held in Hawaii this coming September. The event will take place from September 20 – 24, in which Nichols will participate in Heat 6 along with Tatiana Weston-Webb and Malia Manuel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
