As predicted Essential Quality<\/strong> took the 153rd Belmont Stakes<\/strong>, ending this year’s Triple Crown Races. Essential Quality was the favourite to win with 9-5 odds while Rombaue<\/strong>r, the surprise Preakness Stakes winner was given 6-1 odds.

Essential Quality placed the race smart by staying out near the rear of the pack before jockey Luis Saez<\/strong> made an outside move heading into the final turn. The unofficial winning time for the 1 1\/2 mile race was 2 minutes, 27.11 seconds.

Unfortunately, there will be no chance of a Triple Crown winner this year after Medina Spirit’s Kentucky Derby <\/strong>win, even amid two post-race failed drug tests. Even if Medina Spirit <\/strong>is disqualified this will place Mandaloun <\/strong>as the decided winner, who did not complete in the Preakness Stakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belmont Stakes<\/strong> is one of the oldest horse races, and has been held since 1867 in New York, USA.<\/strong> This race corresponds to a classic where 3-year-old males and females participate. This is the third date of the Triple Crown of North American<\/strong> horse racing. This race is \u00bd mile or 2400m long and is run at the Belmont Park<\/strong> racetrack in New York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be the 153rd<\/strong> edition<\/strong> of the Belmont Stakes,<\/strong> and it is the 110th<\/strong> time that it will be raced at Belmont Park<\/strong>. This race is known worldwide as the “champion test<\/em><\/strong>” and is the third stop of the American Triple Crown<\/strong>. The race is scheduled for June 5, 2021, <\/strong>in Elmont, New York<\/strong>, and is classified as Level I with a prize pool of $1.5 million to be awarded. In this event, there will be no Triple Crown <\/strong>winner as there were different winners in the Kentucky Derby <\/strong>and Preakness Stakes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several of the horses that ran in the Kentucky Derby<\/strong> and did not participate in the Preakness Stakes<\/strong> will be participating in the Belmont Stakes<\/strong> such as Essential Quality, Mandaloun, Besos, and Hot Rod Charlie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the controversy that occurred at the Kentucky Derby<\/strong>, the New York Racing Association<\/strong> prohibited trainer Bob Baffert<\/strong> from entering any horse in any race that is held in the state of New York<\/strong>. Therefore, if the penalty is not lifted before race day, it will prevent Medina Spirit and Concert Tour<\/strong> from participating in the Belmont<\/strong> Stakes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the Belmont Stakes<\/strong> will have two legendary horses participating, the winner of the Preakness Stakes<\/strong>, Rombauer,<\/strong> and the seventh place winner, France Go de Ina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The draw to determine which horses will have which positions on the track will take place on Tuesday, June 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
