Filipe Toledo<\/strong> is a Brazilian professional surfer born on April 16, 1995, in Ubatuba<\/strong>, a small-town northeast of S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil,<\/strong> and currently resides with his family in San Clemente, California<\/strong>, since 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toledo<\/strong> is a second-generation professional that I believe in the coasts of Ubatuba, Brazil<\/strong>. Filipe’s<\/strong> father, Ricardo<\/strong>, was also a surfer and was a national champion at home tournaments. In 2014, when his career grew significantly, he convinced his entire family to move to California<\/strong>. Today, Filipe’s<\/strong> wife and baby are his main pillars and excellent hosts of his legendary barbecues in the backyard of his beautiful home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Filipe’s <\/strong>colleagues and friends, he has only one impediment to achieving the dream of being a world champion, and that is his volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filipe Toledo on the Championship Tour<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filipe<\/strong> has competed in the World Surf League Men’s World Tour <\/strong>since 2013. The year 2014, being the best of his career, ended with a showcase full of trophies obtained in some WQS <\/strong>events. That year, Toledo became the absolute champion of the WQS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, Filipe<\/strong> had another great year, in which he managed to get his first 3 victories on the Championship Tour<\/strong>, and the most impressive thing about this feat for Toledo<\/strong> was that he managed to obtain a perfect score of 10 in each of the finals in the ones that competed. In 2015, Toledo<\/strong> was the surfer who won the most WCT <\/strong>events, but this was not enough for him, and he finished the year in the number 4 position in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His characteristics as a risky surfer make him very vulnerable to injury; in 2016, he was left out of two events due to injury. Another of his problems has been his behavior. Due to a series of mistakes made, in 2017, he was suspended from an event for arguing with the judges after a competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year 2019 was also in style, as he came to compete for the world championship in Pipeline<\/strong>, but it was not enough, and he managed to arrive again in 4th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filipe Toledo<\/strong> represents surf lovers, a spearhead in today’s so-called progressive surfing. He is a surfer of small stature but with an enormous capacity to perform different aggressive and very dangerous movements, especially in the aerial field. This bold and exciting approach has earned him 8 victories in the CT world championship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
