Formula 1 heads to North America for one of the most iconic stops on the calendar: The Canadian GP in Montreal. Known for its passionate fans, unpredictable weather, and a track that always delivers drama, this race is often full of surprises.
Following Lando Norris’s commanding light-to-flag victory in Monaco, closing to within three points of teammate Oscar Piastri, and Max Verstappen’s penalty setbacks in Barcelona, the championship is tighter than ever.
With Piastri leading with 10 points over Norris ahead of Round 10 in Canada, the stakes are high: Verstappen faces the risk of a Fomula 1 race ban if he picks up another penalty point, and Mercedes and Ferrari’s resurgence could challenge McLaren’s momentum.

2025 Canadian GP Circuit Details
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is renowned for its high-speed straights and heavy braking zones, such as the hairpin and final chicane, which create excellent overtaking opportunities. Known also for unpredictable weather, the track features twisty sections and heavy breaking zones that stress tires unevenly.
The Formula 1 track also provides long straights that promise plenty of overtakes and no shortage of tension.
Pirelli has supplied the softest tire compounds: C6, C5, and C4. According to regulations, teams will use two Hard, three Medium, and eight Soft tires, along with intermediates and wets if necessary.
As for the weather forecast for this weekend, Friday will be clear to mostly cloudy, withhighs near 20-21 °C and arain chance under 5%. For Saturday, we can expect a Sunny FP3 and Qualifying. However, on Sunday, there is a slight 20% chance of light rain while it is nothing too drastic to affect the race, it could get dramatic in the blink of an eye.
2025 Canadian GP Betting Picks
Coming off a dominant win, Oscar Piastri leads the Fórmula 1 standings and has Montreal in his crosshairs. His calm, calculated approach makes him a major threat, especially in high-pressure situations. A safe weekend could mean another strong haul of points.
Lando Norris arrived in Spain of fire and continues to chase Piastri aggressively in the Formula 1 title race. Known for bravery under braking, he’ll look to exploit the heavy breaking zones in Montreal, and a victory in Canada could flip the championship on its head.
On the other hand, with one penalty point away from a race ban, Max Verstappen must balance aggression with caution. He’s likely to be more measured, but we can expect flashes of brilliance as he fights for a podium and regains momentum.
Ferrari’s momentum began in Spain through Leclerc’s podium finish. Montreal offers him a circuit that rewards precise corner work and race savvy. If Leclerc finds rhythm in qualifying, he could leap into the top three again.
Let’s not forget about a six-time winner at Gilles Villeneuve, Lewis Hamilton arrives under pressure. Yet his affinity for this track and recent upgrades could make him a surprise contender, especially if rain hits the circuit.
