Matchday 6 of the UEFA World Cup Qualifiers kicks off this Sunday, and some groups are starting to get complicated for the powerhouses.
In Group G, the Netherlands, Poland, and Finland are all tied on seven points, and while the ‘Oranje’ will visit Lithuania, the other two will face off in a key clash.
In Group K, we have one of the most interesting matchups of the round, with Serbia hosting England in Belgrade, looking to end the Brits’ perfect run.
Lastly, a Yugoslav derby, as two countries that were once part of the former Republic of Yugoslavia will face each other in Zagreb: Croatia vs. Montenegro.

Lithuania is one of the weaker teams in the group, from whom little was expected. They have three draws, twice against Malta and once against Finland, along with a narrow 1-0 loss to Poland. Despite the negative results, it’s surprising that they haven’t been thrashed. They are coming off rescuing a draw against Malta with a penalty goal from Gvidas Gineitis in the 90+6 minute.
The Netherlands were surprised this Thursday, drawing 1-1 at home with Poland. In a duel of right-backs, Denzel Dumfries put the Dutch ahead, but Matty Cash scored a stunner in the 80th minute. They now have seven points with two wins and a draw, though they have a plus-10 goal difference in their favor, which could be key in the end.

Both Poland and Finland sit on seven points from four games after two wins, one draw, and one loss. The Poles are ahead in the table thanks to goal difference: +2 vs. 0. Considering the other rival is the Netherlands, it’s likely these two will fight for the playoff spot.
They already faced each other in Helsinki, where the hosts won 2-1. In Poland’s favor is that they just earned a draw away to the Netherlands thanks to a wonder goal from Matty Cash, a point that could define the qualifiers, as long as they secure victory at home. On Finland’s side, they didn’t play an official match but did have a friendly against Norway, losing 1-0 to a penalty goal from Erling Haaland.
Poland vs. Finland Betting Pick: Draw
FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Europe Matchday 6: Croatia vs. Montenegro
Croatia -350 | Montenegro +1240 | Empate: +511 |

Croatia is the favorite to win the group. They have six points after two matches, with 12 goals scored and only one conceded, beating Gibraltar (7-0) and Czechia (5-1). They still have a pending match against the Faroe Islands, which should also be an easy win for Luka Modric’s team despite having several players out injured.
Meanwhile, Montenegro has two wins and one loss against Czechia, their direct rival in the playoff race, whom they will face this Friday in Nikšić. Earning a draw in Zagreb would almost feel like a victory for the team led by a historic Croatian figure, Robert Prosinečki.
Croatia vs. Montenegro Betting Pick: Croatia

Serbia came in with a 3-0 win over Andorra and a goalless draw in the derby with Albania. This Saturday, they’ll first face Latvia before hosting England, who are expected to finish top, but the Balkan side hopes to deliver a blow that will set the group on fire. Against Andorra, Aleksandar Mitrovic scored all three goals.
England leads Group K with nine points from nine, but their image hasn’t been the best. They beat Albania 2-0, Latvia 3-0, and only managed a 1-0 against Andorra. Three easy opponents they should have overwhelmed with goals, but that wasn’t the case. To make matters worse, their last match was a friendly in Nottingham against Senegal, which they lost 3-1. This Saturday, they’ll play Andorra in Birmingham, and they’ll need to crush them.
