The official PGA Tour events may have concluded, but the action continues with the 2025 Hero World Challenge, featuring 20 of the world’s top golfers.

This tournament will take place at Albany Golf Course in New Providence, The Bahamas, from December 4 to 7. Although it does not award FedEx Cup points, it is highly coveted and is hosted by Tiger Woods in support of the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Last year’s champion was Scottie Scheffler, who won the event for the second consecutive year. Interestingly, before Scheffler, Viktor Hovland also won the tournament back-to-back. The all-time leader in victories is Tiger Woods, who has won the event five times, with his last victory occurring in 2011.

2025 Hero World Challenge Top Contenders

The world No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, is the main favorite to take the title and become the first player to win it three consecutive times. The American had six victories this year, including two Majors: the PGA Championship and The Open.

He comes in well-rested. The last tournament he played was the Procore Championship in September, which he won. He finished in the top 3 in his previous five tournaments, winning three of them, and has not finished outside the top 10 in his last 15 events. This year, he played 20 tournaments, finishing in the top 10 in 17 of them.

Cameron Young was another player who had a very strong 2025, winning his first PGA Tour title, the Wyndham Championship, in early August. The 28-year-old American recorded eight top-10 finishes in 25 tournaments, with his most recent appearance being a ninth-place finish at the Procore Championship in September.

In addition to his win, his U.S. Open performance this year stands out, where he finished fourth. Young has played this event three times: he finished third in his debut, 15th in his second appearance, and 13th in his third.

Lastly, we’ll include Robert MacIntyre. The Scotsman did not win a PGA Tour title this year, but he did capture the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the European Tour. He was also runner-up twice, at the U.S. Open and the BMW Championship, and earned four additional top-10 finishes, including a seventh place at The Open.He has only played this tournament once, back in 2021, but missed the cut.

2025 Hero World Challenge Outside picks

One golfer to keep an eye on is J.J. Spaun. The American joined the list of Major winners this year after being crowned champion of the U.S. Open. It was a great year for him, despite losing two playoffs—one to Rory McIlroy at THE PLAYERS Championship and another to Justin Rose at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He also recorded another runner-up finish and a third-place finish in 2025.

Now let’s talk about Justin Rose, who earned his 12th career title thanks to that victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He came close to putting on the green jacket but fell to Rory McIlroy in the playoff at The Masters. He is one of the players who knows this course best, having played this tournament eight times, finishing third in 2019 and achieving six top-10 results.

Lastly, we’ll include Keegan Bradley, another player who won a title in 2025. He triumphed at the Travelers Championship in late June, earning the eighth victory of his career. He has played this course four times, with his best result being a fifth-place finish last year.
