The matches that took place during the 30th matchday of the MLS league may not have been numerous, and they didn’t significantly change the standings at the top of the scoreboard. However, it provided a valuable opportunity for several teams in the middle of the rankings to gain a few points in their quest to catch up with the leaders.
With only four matches scheduled for the weekend, we focused on the bottom-ranked teams of the Western Conference. It was exciting to see them engage in competitive and interesting matchups. The teams displayed a high level of competitiveness, delivering plenty of action. We are eager to take a moment to break down what occurred during this brief Matchday 30 of the MLS. temporada regular.

The Dynamo had an exciting night this past Saturday. The team scored during the first half of the match, and even though LA Galaxy maintained ball possession for much longer and continued to push offensively, they struggled to equalize for most of the game. However, in the 9th minute of added time, Galaxy managed to score a last-second goal that leveled the score, just as the Dynamo was beginning to sense victory. It should have been a thrilling moment for any Galaxy fan.

Chicago Fire had a strong performance during their match, quickly gaining the upper hand against their opponents. They took an early lead by scoring in the 2nd and 10th minutes. Throughout the first half, they continued to dominate the game, and they even added a third goal in the 68th minute.
New England finally broke through with their first goal in the 78th minute. Although they were trailing, they weren’t finished yet. Despite scoring a penalty in the 4th minute of added time, they couldn’t close the gap enough to catch up to the Chicago Fire.

The St. Louis team was trying to break through against FC Dallas, but they struggled to do so, which made for an interesting match. The hosts scored in the 32nd minute, only for their opponents to respond just two minutes later. After that, neither team managed to score again, despite their efforts.
FC Dallas took a total of four shots, with two of them on target, indicating they focused on precision. In contrast, St. Louis controlled the game with nearly 70% possession and aimed for the goal many times, taking a staggering 42 shots, of which 14 were on target. However, they were unable to find the back of the net to secure the lead.

The hosts started the match with confidence after securing a penalty that allowed them to take the lead in the 16th minute. However, they may have become overconfident too soon, as Austin equalized in the 37th minute through Owen Wolff.
Sporting KC managed to regain the lead, but it wasn’t enough. Austin struck again in the 82nd minute, sealing the match and taking all three points with them. This disappointing result spoiled the celebration for a host team that had been aggressively dominant but ultimately ineffective.
