The Barbasol Championship reaches its seventh edition this 2023 and the organizers expect that the event will be unforgettable in all aspects. In six years of celebrating it, six different players won the title: Scott Piercey (2015); Aaron Baddeley (2016); Grayson Murray (2017); Troy Merritt (2018); Jim Herman (2019); Seamus Power (2021) and Trey Mullinax (2022).
Initially based in Alabama, the Barbasol Championship was moved to Kentucky in 2018, where it remains today. This tournament is part of the PGA Tour and since 2022 it gives access to several competitions around the world, including The Open Championship.
The event lasts a little less than a week and preparations began yesterday, the 10th, with training closed to the public. On Wednesday the gates open, but it is on Thursday, July 13th, that the first round of the competition will begin. The games will go on until Sunday, the day that the great champion will be known.
