Mexico returns to the center stage of world golf with the return of the World Wide Technology Championship, a tournament that has become a tradition on the PGA Tour.

Each season, this event not only celebrates the country’s connection to the top circuit but also offers a unique setting to see new golf stars take on established champions in a highly competitive environment. In this 19th edition, expectations are even higher, as the tournament will once again be played at El Cardonal, the first course designed by Tiger Woods, a detail that adds prestige and symbolism.

From November 6 to 9, 120 players will compete for a total purse of $6 million, with $1,080,000 reserved for the winner who lifts the trophy on Sunday. It’s not just a financial prize: there are only three official events left in the PGA Tour season, making this week crucial for those looking to secure their status and place for 2026.

Defending champion Austin Eckroat returns to try to retain his title against figures such as Erik van Rooyen, Matt Kuchar, and Patton Kizzire, all previous champions of the tournament. But they are joined by players who have made their mark in recent seasons, Major winners, FedEx Cup contenders, and rising young stars who could surprise everyone.

No Troca de Gambila, you can explore all the predictions, the final bets, and the odds.

2025 World Wide Technology Championship Details

El Cardonal, located in the luxurious Diamante resort in Cabo San Lucas, is the first golf course designed by Tiger Woods. In 2023, the PGA Tour moved the tournament to this venue after Mayakoba began hosting a LIV Golf event. Since then, the new home has been enthusiastically received by both players and fans.

The course is a 7,452-yard, par-72 layout with wide fairways, averaging around 60 yards, and no aggressive rough. It features 48 bunkers and a single water hazard, forcing players to rely on strategy rather than strength. Its greens are large, averaging 8,300 square feet, allowing for multiple pin positions and a variety of challenges day after day.

In 2024, it was considered one of the most accessible courses on the Tour, with an average score of 70.06 (-1.94). Hole 4, a 483-yard par 4, was the most demanding, while hole 1, a wide and generous par 5, proved to be an invitation to start the round with a birdie or even an eagle.

2025 World Wide Technology Championship Betting Picks

In total, 42 international players from 20 countries are part of the field this year, demonstrating the global reach of the tournament. Of the 120 participants, 31 have achieved victories on the PGA Tour in the last two seasons, guaranteeing a high level of competition. Among them are eight winners in 2025, including Nick Taylor, Joe Highsmith, and Ben Griffin, names that have proven to be in top form and ready to compete.

The presence of Major champions adds even more weight to the competition. J.J. Spaun arrives as the recent winner of the US Open at Oakmont, Wyndham Clark brings with him the experience of having won the US Open in 2023, and Francesco Molinari, champion of the 2018 Open Championship, returns to a course that may suit his characteristic precision.

In addition, the legendary Luke Donald, two-time captain of the European team at the Ryder Cup (2023 and 2025), will also be competing on Mexican soil.

Seven members of the world’s top 60 will be participating this week: Spaun (#6), Griffin (#12), Max Greyserman (#31), Clark (#33), Nick Taylor (#41), Michael Brennan (#42), and Johnny Keefer (#53), the latter recognized as Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year.

One of the most attractive players to bet on this week is Max Greyserman. During 2024, he came close to winning his first Tour PGA title several times and has shown consistency on long courses without aggressive rough. Despite a somewhat uneven start this year, his recent performance in Japan, where he finished just one stroke behind Xander Schauffele, puts him in good spirits.

In addition, Greyserman already knows what it’s like to play well at El Cardonal, where he finished fourth last year. His trend indicates that he is close to breaking through and achieving his first victory. If he fails to win, his chances of entering the top 20, top 10, or even top 5 are quite reasonable.
