The fourth week of the 2025 NFL season was full of excitement, unexpected results, and games that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Between dramatic comebacks, defensive displays, and unstoppable offenses, the league landscape is beginning to take shape: some teams are confirming their status as title contenders, while others will need to correct their course as soon as possible if they don’t want to fall behind.
There was a little bit of everything: a classic-style tie in Arlington, a scoring festival in Foxborough, a defensive masterclass from the Texans, and a hard-fought victory for the reigning champion Eagles in Tampa Bay. In addition, teams like the Lions and Chiefs made statements, making it clear that their level of play is several steps above average.
In contrast, historic franchises such as the Browns, Titans, and Panthers were completely outclassed, raising doubts about their ability to compete this season. With four weeks already played, the margin for error is beginning to shrink, and the pressure is mounting in locker rooms where results are not coming.

Resumo da Semana 4 da NFL: Bucaneiros vs. Águias
The defending NFL champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, maintained their perfect record with a hard-fought victory in hot Florida against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They did so with a mix of special plays, ground power, and an effective connection between Jalen Hurts and Dallas Goedert.
The game kicked off with a key moment: Sydney Brown blocked a kick and returned it 35 yards to the end zone, setting an aggressive tone from the start. Hurts extended the lead with two touchdown passes to Goedert, while Jake Elliott contributed with precision field goals.
Tampa Bay, however, did not give up. Kicker Chase McLaughlin had a historic day with a 65-yard field goal, a new franchise record, and one of the longest in NFL history. In addition, Baker Mayfield connected on two spectacular bombs: a 77-yard pass to Emeka Egbuka and another 72-yarder to Bucky Irving, which brought the home team back into the game.
But Philadelphia’s response was emphatic. Saquon Barkley appeared with a six-yard touchdown run that secured the decisive lead. With this victory, the Eagles reached a 4-0 record, consolidating a promising start that keeps them as clear contenders.
Result: Buccaneers 25–31 Eagles
Resumo da Semana 4 da NFL: Lions vs. Browns
The Detroit Lions showed that their defense also deserves respect after dominating the Cleveland Browns at Ford Field. Although all the pre-game talk was about Cleveland’s defensive power, it was Detroit’s defensive wall that ended up shining: they limited the visitors to just 10 points, sacked Joe Flacco three times, and forced three turnovers that completely changed the dynamic of the game.
Detroit’s offense struck early with touchdowns from Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown, as well as two field goals from Jake Bates, who even matched his personal best with a 58-yard shot. The icing on the cake came with a 65-yard punt return by Kalif Raymond in the fourth quarter, securing the final score of 34-10 and bringing the Lions to a positive record for the season.
In the quarterback comparison, Jared Goff did not have spectacular numbers, but he was effective with two touchdown passes despite an interception. Flacco, on the other hand, struggled from start to finish, throwing two interceptions and failing to find the end zone. The key moment came in the second quarter when an interception by DJ Reed paved the way for another Detroit touchdown that extended the lead and left the Browns on the ropes.
Result: Lions 34–10 Browns
Resumo da Semana 4 da NFL: 49ers vs. Jaguars
The game in Santa Clara was an intense clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Brock Purdy returning from injury. The home team started strong thanks to a field goal by Eddy Piñeiro, but a fumble in the second quarter opened the door for the Jaguars, who capitalized with a long carry by Travis Etienne and a touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence to Hunter Long. Jacksonville went into halftime with the lead after another field goal by Cam Little in the final seconds.
San Francisco responded in the second half when Purdy improvised a short pass to Christian McCaffrey that turned into a touchdown. However, mistakes proved costly once again: an interception led to points for Jacksonville, and later a punt return by Parker Washington extended the lead. Although the Niners responded with a touchdown pass to Jake Tonges, the pressure of the clock began to work against them.
In the final minutes, a fumble by Purdy virtually sealed the defeat, allowing the Jaguars to run out the clock and secure a 26-21 victory. The loss leaves San Francisco with many questions about its consistency, while Jacksonville showed it can make a statement against tough opponents.
Result: 49ers 21–26 Jaguars
Resumo da Semana 4 da NFL: Chefes vs. Ravens
In Kansas City, the Chiefs delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 37-20. The offense led by Patrick Mahomes was unstoppable, combining a fluid passing game with a solid running game that kept the Baltimore defense guessing.
The Ravens attempted to stay in the game with explosive plays, but the Chiefs’ defense came up big at key moments, stopping crucial drives and forcing turnovers that the offense then converted into points. Kansas City’s control of the game’s pace made the difference, preventing Lamar Jackson from imposing his style on the game.
This victory not only consolidates the Chiefs as one of the most dominant teams in the AFC but also highlights Baltimore’s need to adjust its defense if it wants to compete against the top contenders. Mahomes, for his part, made it clear once again that, with weapons around him, the Chiefs remain the standard by which the rest of the league is measured.
Result: Chiefs 37–20 Ravens
