This weekend brings Matchday 16 of Serie A, a shortened round due to four games being postponed because of the Italian Super Cup.

The top three teams in the standings will not be in action, giving Roma a chance to move into first place. To do so, however, they must win away against Juventus, who are looking to close the gap to the Champions League spots.

Lazio is another team that could take advantage, as a win over Cremonese could lift them into sixth place, while Sassuolo and Torino are also aiming to join the race.

Finally, the team at the bottom of the table, Fiorentina, will look for their first win of the season when they host a mid-table Udinese.

Lazio sit in eighth place with 22 points, three behind sixth, and with Bologna (6th) and Como (7th) not in action, they could move up two spots and temporarily claim a place in the Conference League. They are 10th with 21 points after six wins, three draws, and six losses, scoring 16 goals and conceding 22,making them the only team among the top 12 with a negative goal difference. Away from home, they have picked up 10 of a possible 21 points, highlighted by a 1-2 win over Inter.
