The second legs of the 2025 Clausura MX Femenil semifinals are underway, with two very evenly matched series that are still wide open.
On one side, América will host Guadalajara in the Clásico Nacional, with the series tied 2-2 —a result that slightly favors the Águilas.
In the other matchup, the reigning champions Monterrey will visit Pachuca after securing a 1-0 win in the first leg.

The first leg was a great match, worthy of a semifinal and a derby. América salvaged a draw in stoppage time with a penalty kick that sealed the 2-2 final score.
The ‘Águilas,’ who finished first in the overall standings and would advance to the final in case of a tie, took the lead with a powerful shot from Angelique Saldivar after a splendid individual play and a cross from Alexa Soto.
However, Chivas managed to turn the game around in the second half through Alicia Cervantes. The home team’s star first scored off a direct shot from a Carolina Jaramillo free kick and then netted a penalty after being fouled herself.
But just when it seemed Guadalajara would come away with the win, a handball—heavily reviewed by VAR— resulted in a penalty for América, which Nancy Antonio confidently converted to tie the game at 2-2.
It’s worth noting that América has been missing two of its top scorers due to injury for a while now: Daniela Espinosa (9 goals) and Priscila Flor da Silva (8 goals). Since losing both players, Saldivar has stepped up, scoring five goals in the last five matches and reaching 11 for the tournament.
In addition to those absences, Ángel Villacampa’s team is also without key players Sarah Luebbert and Nicky Hernández due to injuries.
América has not lost a home match since April 29, 2024 (2-4 vs. Pachuca) and has not been defeated by Chivas at home since March 13, 2022 (1-2).
As for Guadalajara, they pulled off a surprise in the quarterfinals by beating Pumas 1-0 away.

Monterrey pulled off a surprise in the first leg of the semifinals by defeating Pachuca 1-0 and shutting down star striker Charlyn Corral.
The reigning champions, who had previously eliminated Tigres thanks to their higher position in the standings after two 1-1 draws, secured the win with a penalty goal from Dutch player Merel van Dongen just before halftime, giving them a slight edge heading into the second leg.
The Rayadas dominated their opponents throughout the match. However, they were unable to convert their chances until VAR awarded a penalty in first-half stoppage time, allowing them to break the deadlock.
Monterrey is now unbeaten in eight matches, with five wins and three draws. On the road during this tournament, they have recorded four wins, three losses, and two draws, including the quarterfinal against Tigres.
On the Pachuca side, this was only the third match this season where they failed to score and the first of those in which they suffered a loss. It also marked just their second defeat of 2025. At home this year, they have six wins, three draws, and one loss. Having finished second in the overall standings, they would advance to the final if the aggregate score is tied.
Charlyn Corral remains the tournament’s top scorer, having netted 24 of Pachuca’s 45 goals during the Clausura MX.
A worrying stat for the ‘Tuzas’ is that they have now gone nine matches without defeating Monterrey, suffering five losses. In the last two Liga MX Feminina playoffs, they also faced each other in the semifinals, and Monterrey won all games.
