11ª rodada do Brasileirão: Bahia vs. Sao Paulo

Bahia bounced back from the bitter taste of Copa Libertadores elimination with a 2-1 win over São Paulo, thanks to a brace from Willian José.
The former Betis striker opened the scoring with a header in the 53rd minute after a cross from Erick Pulgar and then netted his second from the penalty spot in the 73rd.
The visitors pulled one back in the 85th minute, also from the spot, with Luciano converting the penalty, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat.
Earlier in the week, the ‘Tricolor de Aço’ lost to Internacional and dropped to third in their Libertadores group—being relegated to the Copa Sudamericana. Tricolor Paulista beat Talleres and secured the top spot in their group in the same tournament.
With the win, Bahia climbs to sixth place with 18 points and remains unbeaten at home, while São Paulo drops to 13th with 12 points and is still searching for its first away win.
11ª rodada do Brasileirão: Santos x Botafogo
Santos +159 | Botafogo +195 | Draw Offs: +204 |
Santos continues its dreadful campaign in their return to the top division, falling 1-0 at home to Botafogo—partly due to a costly mistake by their star, Neymar.
‘Peixe’ had the better chances, with numerous shots and attacking plays, but ‘Fogão managed to survive time and again—sometimes due to poor finishing, sometimes thanks to the woodwork, and often thanks to their goalkeeper, John Víctor, who was the standout performer of the night.
In the 76th minute, Neymar tried to deceive the referee by using his hand to score a goal, resulting in his second yellow card of the match—and a subsequent red. With one man down, Santos struggled to hold off their opponent, who eventually scored the lone goal in the 86th minute through a header from Artur.
Santos now remains stuck in the relegation zone, sitting in 18th place with eight points, while Botafogo climbs to ninth with 15 points.
11ª rodada do Brasileirão: Cruzeiro x Palmeiras
Cruzeiro +217 | Palmeiras +139 | Draw Offs: +214 |
In the most exciting match of the weekend, where the top spot was on the line, Cruzeiro defeated Palmeiras 2-1 and knocked them off the summit—though it’s not the Belo Horizonte side that takes the lead, but Flamengo.
The match quickly went Cruzeiro’s way, as Kaio Jorge scored a brace within the first four minutes in a very similar fashion. The first came in the 2nd minute after a corner from the right was first headed by Kaiki and then finished by the forward for the 1-0.
Just two minutes later, a free kick from the right led to a rebound in the box, and the ball again landed at Kaio Jorge’s feet for his second of the night—his eighth goal of the tournament, putting him just one behind top scorer Giorgian De Arrascaeta.
Palmeiras kept pressing but couldn’t break through until the 87th minute when a quick one-two between Allan and Lucas Evangelista ended with the 21-year-old midfielder calmly slotting the ball into the far corner.
Cruzeiro now sits second with 23 points, just one behind Flamengo, while Palmeiras drops to fourth with 22.
11ª rodada do Brasileirão: Flamengo x Fortaleza
Flamengo -263 | Fortaleza +730 | Draw Offs: +380 |
The new leader of Brazilian football is Flamengo, who showed no mercy against Fortaleza and crushed them with a dominant 5-0 victory.
The opening goal came from the league’s top scorer, Giorgian De Arrascaeta, who received a great pass from Léo Ortiz, entered the box, and finished clinically to score his ninth goal of the season.
The first half ended with that lone goal, and it seemed like a tight match. However, everything changed quickly in the second half. In the 48th minute, Everton Araujo struck from the edge of the box to make it 2-0, and Luiz Araújo took advantage of a couple of rebounds inside the area to slot home the third in the 56th.
The final blows came in the 71st and 74th minutes. First, Michael finished off a brilliant cross from Guillermo Varela with a first-time shot, and then Pedro won the ball back and assisted Luiz Araújo, who deceived the defender and calmly scored to seal the 5-0 result.
With the win, Flamengo now tops the table with 24 points, boasting both the best attack (24 goals) and the best defense (4 goals conceded). Fortaleza, on the other hand, dropped into the relegation zone with 10 points—level with the teams in 15th and 16th.
