O treinador Hajime Moriyasu soube ler o jogo e fazer as alterações indicadas, já que Ritsu Doan e Takuma Asano (ambos jogadores da Bundesliga), que entraram na segunda parte, foram os marcadores. Esta é uma das vitórias mais importantes da história da seleção japonesa e agora espera vencer a Costa Rica para selar a sua classificação e dar mais uma grande surpresa.

Os comandados por Luis Fernando Suárez mostraram que não têm argumentos para enfrentar os rivais do grupo e, apesar de terem disputado apenas 1 jogo, já estão eliminados.

A Costa Rica é incrível. O Japão deu uma grande surpresa neste grupo ao vencer Alemanha e Espanha e ficar em primeiro lugar. A Espanha sofreu até ao fim mas conseguiu manter o segundo lugar, embora preocupe bastante, enquanto a Alemanha foi uma desilusão e voltou para casa mais cedo. A Costa Rica, depois do péssimo início, deixou uma imagem muito boa no final e sai de cabeça erguida.
Grupo E da Copa do Mundo: Alemanha
Aquele que é sempre candidato em cada Copa do Mundo na Alemanha. Os tetracampeões mundiais chegam ao Catar com fome e com a obrigação de limpar a péssima imagem que deixaram na Rússia em 2018, onde foram a grande decepção do torneio ao terminar em último lugar no grupo que dividiam com Suécia, México, e Coreia do Sul.
Além disso, os 'teutões' também tiveram uma péssima UEFA Nations League, onde terminaram em terceiro ao só conseguirem vencer a Itália (5-2). Sem dúvida, números muito fracos contrastam com a sua história e com o seu caminho até ao Mundial, onde venceu 9 jogos e perdeu apenas 1, embora seja verdade que enfrentou equipas de terceiro e quarto escalão.
Entre as ausências notáveis estão as de Marco Reus e Timo Werner, lesionados nas últimas semanas. A perda do Reus dói muito, ele estava em um nível muito bom e já havia perdido a Copa do Mundo de 2014 por lesão, onde foi campeão, e os Europeus de 2016 e 2020.

Por outro lado, entre as surpresas da convocação está o retorno de Mario Gotze, herói do Brasil 2014, após mais de 5 anos sem jogar pela Mannschaft. Suas boas atuações no PSV e no Frankfurt lhe renderam uma convocação.
A outra grande novidade é a presença do jovem Youssoufa Moukoko, que completará 18 anos no dia 20 de novembro e que está fazendo história e quebrando marcas de precocidade nas diversas categorias do Borussia Dortmund e da Seleção Alemã. Nesta temporada ele já marcou 6 gols e deu 4 assistências.
Hans Flick terá a tarefa de melhorar a imagem da Alemanha e de si mesmo, porque desde a sua chegada tem sido criticado pelo jogo da equipa.

Costa Rica will play it’s third consecutive World Cup and fifth of the last six, showing that they are already one of the powers in Concacaf. Although in 2014 they surprised by reaching the quarterfinals despite sharing a group with Uruguay, Italy, and England, eliminating the latter two, in 2018 they were not so lucky and fell in the first round.
However, the team is not very convincing to the Costa Ricans themselves. Without great figures, the only player of renown is Kaylor Navas, and they hope that Joel Campbell shows some of that talent that brought him to Arsenal about 10 years ago. For the rest, coach Luis Fernando Suárez will have a fairly combative group that will appeal to their physical condition to beat their rivals.
