Cruz Azul e Tigres fizeram um grande jogo na noite de domingo, com dois tempos bem diferentes. Na primeira etapa o Tigres foi superior teve mais posse de bola, rematou mais vezes à baliza adversária e abriu o marcador aos 41′, com Guido Pizarro.

Porém, as mudanças feitas pelo técnico do Cruz Azul no intervalo surtiram efeito, e os donos da casa passaram a comandar as ações ofensivas do jogo. Na segunda metade, Cruz Azul took 14 shots, against only 3 of its opponent. Of these 14, only 3 were in goal, demonstrating a great waste of opportunities created.

No geral, o León foi superior na partida, mas as jogadas mais perigosas vieram do Pachuca. O futebol é um esporte especial justamente por isso: um determinado time pode jogar melhor ao longo da partida e ainda assim perder. Futebol é jogar bem, mas é também, acima de tudo, demonstrar eficiência.

León, playing at home, teve mais posse de bola e chutou com mais frequência, mas o Pachuca acertou na trave e abriu o placar aos 28’ do primeiro tempo. O atacante costarriquenho do León, Joel Campbell, foi expulso nos acréscimos, dando um pouco mais de tranquilidade aos visitantes. Porém, o médio Erick Sánchez também foi expulso aos 68', igualando os números da partida pelo menos nas expulsões.

Nobody doubts that Monterrey and Toluca will reach the final stages of the Mexican championship, and this great game made everyone realize that. Even playing away from home, Toluca had the majority of ball possession and shots to goal for the entire match but did not know how to take advantage of their chances. 

Motivated by the crowd, Monterrey opened the scoring at 17′ and extended it at 31′, still in the first half, with the second goal by Arturo González. Toluca reduced the score with Maximiliano Araújo, at 62′, but failed to pose more danger to Andrada’s goal. Monterrey emerged victorious this time, but we’ll certainly see these teams again in the playoffs.
