In a match marked by several questionable referee decisions, Barcelona crushed Olympiacos 6-1 to bounce back from their loss to PSG and head into this weekend’s “El Clásico”full of confidence.

The Spaniards took control early, with Fermín López, the star of the night, opening the scoring in the 7th minute. The midfielder pounced on a loose ball after a solo run from Lamine Yamal and fired from inside the box. The shot deflected through several legs but ended up in the net.

Fermín doubled the lead in the 38th minute after a pass from youngster Dro Fernández, while Ayoub El Kaabi pulled one back for the Greeks from the penalty spot in the 53rd.

A controversial second yellow card to Santiago Hezze left Olympiacos down to ten men, and from there it was all Barcelona. The ‘Blaugranas’ extended their lead in the 68th minute with a questionable penalty on Marcus Rashford, which Yamal converted to make it 3-1.

Rashford then scored the 4-1 with a strike inside the box, while Fermín completed his hat-trick after a great play by Roony Bardghji. In the 79th minute, the English forward appeared again with a shot from outside the box to seal the rout.

Barcelona now sit ninth with six points, while Olympiacos are 33rd with just one point—one goal scored and eight conceded.

Result: Barcelona 6-1 Olympiacos

In a surprising result, Arsenal defeated Atlético Madrid 4-0 to maintain their perfect record in the Champions League and build great momentum.

The match was an odd one, as the score remained 0-0 until the 57th minute. That’s when the deadlock was broken with the Gunners’ favorite play—a corner kick. Declan Rice delivered the cross, and Gabriel Magalhães headed it home.

Then came a six-minute hurricane. In the 64th minute, Myles Lewis-Skelly set up Gabriel Martinelli, who struck first-time toward the far post. Although Jan Oblak managed to get a touch, the ball hit the post and went in.

After that, the much-debated Viktor Gyökeres scored a brace in just three minutes. At the 67th, he capitalized on a rebound and finished from close range, and at the 70th, the Swedish striker tapped in another following a header from Gabriel on a corner.

The ‘Gunners’ now boast a perfect record with three wins in three games, scoring eight goals and conceding none. As for Atlético Madrid, they sit 19th with three points.

Result: Arsenal 4-0 Atlético

The reigning champions are proving they’re serious about defending their title. PSG were a machine, crushing Bayer Leverkusen 2-7 in Germany against a side clearly struggling for form.

The match was balanced early on. Defender Willian Pacho opened the scoring with a header in the 7th minute, his first goal for PSG and his first at club level since 2022. The Germans had a chance to equalize in the 25th minute, but Alejandro Grimaldo’s penalty struck the post.

Then came a flurry of drama: Robert Andrich was sent off in the 33rd minute, and just four minutes later, Ilya Zabarnyi saw red as well, leaving both teams with 10 men.

Leverkusen had another opportunity from the spot. This time, Aleix García converted to make it 1-1 in the 38th minute, but that was just a mirage, as PSG completely overran their opponents.

Désiré Doué scored with a left-footed strike inside the box, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia found the net with a shot that bounced off both posts before going in, and Doué added another with a right-footed rocket from distance to make it 1-4 before halftime.

In the second half, Nuno Mendes joined the attack to make it 1-5, though Aleix García pulled one back with a long-range screamer.

Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé returned to action to make it 2-6, and Vitinha sealed the scoreline at 2-7 with a powerful strike from outside the box in the 90th minute.

PSG now top the table with nine points, 13 goals scored, and only three conceded, while Bayer Leverkusen sit 30th with just two points.

Result: Bayer Leverkusen 2-7 PSG
