Resumo da Semana 1 da NFL

Last Updated on setembro 9, 2025 10:24 am by Erwin Noguera

The first week of the 2025/26 NFL season did not disappoint and made it clear that this year will be marked by parity and surprises.

From intense divisional matchups to unexpected victories, the league opened with clashes that are already shaping narratives. One of the most talked-about results was the Chargers’ victory over the Chiefs (27-21), a show of force in the AFC West that reignites the eternal debate about whether Kansas City is still as dominant as in recent years. In the NFC East, the Eagles beat the Cowboys 24-20 in a physical game, cementing their status as contenders from the outset.

The day also provided high-voltage excitement, such as the battle between the Bills and Ravens (41-40), an offensive duel that was decided in the final seconds and reaffirmed Buffalo’s aerial power against a Baltimore team that failed to close out a game that seemed to be in their hands. In contrast, there were dominant and uneventful victories, such as the Colts’ 33-8 win over the Dolphins, leaving Miami with more questions than answers at the start. In addition, teams such as the Packers (27-13 over the Lions) and Commanders (21-6 over the Giants) showed strength in games that could set the tone within their divisions.

NFL: Week 1 Roundup: Águias vs. Cowboys

The start of the 2025 NFL season took an unexpected turn when the opening game between defending champions the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys was interrupted by a thunderstorm in the vicinity of Lincoln Financial Field. The situation forced authorities and the league to prioritize the safety of players and fans, calling a halt to the game in the middle of the third quarter, when the score was 24-20 in favor of the home team.

Until that point, the Eagles had shown slight superiority, driven by an unstoppable Jalen Hurts, who had two rushing touchdowns and great accuracy in the passing game (13 completions on 15 attempts for 111 yards). Dallas, meanwhile, had found an answer in the first half thanks to the efforts of its new running back Javonte Williams, although the defense was unable to contain Philadelphia’s momentum. The break came at a time when the Eagles seemed to have taken emotional and footballing control of the game.

Following the suspension order, the players headed to the locker rooms, and the crowd evacuated the stands to wait for the storm to pass. According to safety protocol, at least 30 minutes had to pass since the last recorded lightning strike before play could resume. The total delay lasted approximately one hour, enough time for tension to build both on and off the field, before the action could continue in a season opener that was as eventful as it was exciting.

Result: Eagles (24) – (20) Cowboys

NFL Week 1 Roundup: Carregadores vs. Chefes

The start of the 2025 season in São Paulo produced one of the most striking surprises of the opening day: the Kansas City Chiefs’ defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers at Neo Química Arena.

With Patrick Mahomes at the helm, many expected a solid debut from the reigning title contenders. However, the night ended up belonging to Justin Herbert and Cameron Dicker, who led the Angels to a convincing 27-21 victory. Not even Mahomes’ usual magic could rescue Andy Reid’s team, who leave Brazil with the obligation to recover as soon as possible.

The game began with clear dominance from the Chargers, who struck first thanks to the connection between Herbert and Quentin Johnston, complemented by Dicker’s effectiveness on field goals. Kansas City also suffered a major setback in the first quarter when rookie Xavier Worthy left the field with a shoulder injury, limiting their offensive options.

Even so, the Chiefs stayed close on the scoreboard thanks to Harrison Butker’s leg, although the first half ended with Los Angeles in the lead and the feeling that Herbert was in complete control of the game.

In the second half, Mahomes tried to spark a comeback with touchdown passes, including one to Travis Kelce that lifted the crowd in São Paulo, but every attempt at a comeback was met with an immediate response from Herbert and company. The Chargers quarterback connected again with Keenan Allen and Johnston at key moments, while Dicker did not falter under pressure.

The game ended with the Angels managing their lead to a final score of 27-21, a result that marks an exciting start for Los Angeles and a worrying warning for Kansas City.

Result: Chargers (27) – (21) Chiefs

NFL Week 1 Roundup: Seahawks x 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers kicked off the 2025/26 season with a hard-fought victory at Lumen Field, where they managed to beat the Seattle Seahawks 17-13. The score reflected how close the game was, with the home team controlling most of the play, spurred on by their fans. However, solid defense and a timely finish allowed the Californians to come away with the victory in a hostile environment.

The afternoon got off to a rocky start for San Francisco, which saw its star tight end, George Kittle, leave the field with a muscle injury. That blow to morale was compounded by an inconsistent offensive performance, raising the possibility of a stumble in their season opener. Even so, the team managed to stay calm and wait for the right moment to deliver the final blow.

With the clock ticking, Brock Purdy found Jake Tonges in the end zone to turn the score around and seal the deal. On Seattle’s final drive, the Niners’ defense responded strongly, shutting down any comeback attempt and ensuring a positive start to the season despite the difficulties.

Result: Seahawks (13) – (17) 49ers

NFL Week 1 Roundup: Contas contra Ravens

The Buffalo Bills kicked off their 2025 NFL season with a spectacular comeback that was decided on the final play. With the clock at zero, Matt Prater converted a 32-yard field goal to seal a 41-40 victory, capping an epic comeback after trailing by 16 points. The matchup revived memories of last year’s divisional series in the playoffs, but this time it was the New Yorkers who came away with the victory.

The architect of the comeback was Josh Allen, who shone with 394 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and two rushing touchdowns, adding 30 yards on the ground. Buffalo’s offense was rounded out by a rushing touchdown from James Cook and touchdown receptions from Dalton Kincaid and Keon Coleman. Even so, the script seemed adverse until the fourth quarter, when the Ravens, despite solid performances from Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, let a game they had practically controlled slip away.

Jackson contributed 210 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and a rushing touchdown, while Henry dazzled with 169 yards on just 18 carries and two trips to the end zone, including a spectacular 46-yard run. However, the running back also had a costly fumble in the final stretch. With the score at 40-32, Allen cut the lead with a rushing touchdown and, after a defensive recovery in the final 90 seconds, led his team with long passes that set the stage for Prater’s decisive field goal. It was a hard-fought and memorable victory that ignited the atmosphere in Buffalo.

Result: Bills (41) – (40) Ravens
