Why Bet on the Raiders?

Pete Carroll didn’t expect his return to the NFL to go this way. The 74-year-old coach dreamed of a playoff run, but the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2-5 record tells a very different story.

Last weekend, they were crushed by the Kansas City Chiefs, who shut them out with a dominant 31-0 win. It was the second game this season in which Geno Smith wasn’t intercepted, but he completed only 10 of 16 passes for 67 yards.

Smith’s 67 passing yards, combined with eight from Kenny Pickett through the air, plus 21 from Ashton Jeanty, three from Dylan Laube, and one from Smith on the ground, add up to just 100 total yards.

The Raiders have now gone 27 consecutive games scoring fewer than 30 points, the third-longest streak in franchise history and the longest active streak in the NFL. The last time they scored over 30 was against the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14, 2023, when they won 63-21.

Why Bet on Jaguars?

The Jacksonville Jaguars, meanwhile, are still allowed to dream of a postseason run with their 4-3 record. While they’re far behind the Indianapolis Colts (7-1) in the AFC South, they remain in the hunt for one of the top spots in the conference.

They started the season strong, winning four of their first five games, but have since dropped their last two, both at home, losing to the Seattle Seahawks (12-20) and most recently to the Los Angeles Rams, 7-35.

Their only touchdown came in the fourth quarter, scored by rookie wide receiver Travis Hunter, marking his first career NFL touchdown. The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, taken with the No. 2 pick in this year’s Draft out of Colorado, finished with 101 yards on eight receptions. Hunter leads the Jaguars in catches (28) and ranks second in receiving yards (298). After his first 100-yard game, it’s clear he’ll play an increasingly important role in the offense.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 23 of 48 passes for 296 yards and one touchdown, posting a 48% completion rate, his lowest of the season. While he avoided interceptions, he was sacked seven times.

Final Betting Analysis: Raiders vs. Jaguars

Carroll dreams of a postseason run, but the Raiders are still a long way from achieving that—and it certainly won’t happen with Geno Smith at quarterback. While the Jaguars aren’t an elite team, they’ve managed to pull off some surprises and are better built than their opponent, so they should come away with the win.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have the Jaguars as the favorite, with their Moneyline at -155, while the Raiders are listed at +130.

The last time these two teams met was on December 22, 2024, in this same stadium, when the Raiders won 19-14.

Go for a win for the Jaguars. If you bet $100 at -155, you will gain $65 for a total payout of $165.
