This Saturday night’s UFC Vegas 49 has left us with an excellent stellar fight between Islam Makhachev and Bobby Green. Makhachev was looking to extend his winning streak, and Green was back in the UFC octagons just 14 days after his last fight. A fight of completely different styles, one seeking to take the fight to the ground to subdue his rival; the other having ‘striking’ and aggressiveness as his maximum strength.

Makhachev, a student of former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, has always said that his pupil has great potential in the world of MMA and has shown this thanks to the excellent results he has had in recent years.

Little by little he has been achieving triumphs that have taken him to fourth position in the UFC world rank; very close to an opportunity for the belt in the hands of Charles Oliveira. Whenever Makhachev is on a fight card, we are sure to have emotions from the start of the fight.

While Green came to this fight to supplant Dariush after he suffered an ankle injury; just 10 days before the fight, his preparation for this was very short.

The Russian Makhachev started the fight with everything; as he is accustomed to us, with an impressive striking and aggressiveness. Without a doubt, this is his main attraction, and for what the fans love him.

In the first seconds of the fight, Makhachev was studying Green, seeing how his movements were and what his speed was when defending. After a kick missed by Green, the Russian took the opportunity to start his aggressive attack sending him to the fence and, with a combination of punches, elbows, and kicks managed to send him to the canvas.

Last Compasses of the Fight

At that moment of the fight, it was game over for Green; he entered Makhachev’s danger zone and, defending himself as best he could and preventing the Russian from fully landing all his punches, he made a mistake and that allowed Makhachev to finish the fight before the end of the first round and took a great victory by knockout.

The Russian exhibited his best offensive facet in this fight, while Green claimed to the referee that he could continue in the fight.

Makhachev asserted his favorite label in this fight against an opponent who did not give him opposition or much of a battle.
