Monaco Grand Prix 2023 Preview and Betting Odds

Last Updated on May 24, 2023 6:33 pm by Erwin Noguera

The Monaco Grand Prix is a Formula One motor racing event held annually on the Circuit de Monaco, in late May or early June.

Run since 1929, it is widely considered to be one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world and is one of the races—along with the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans—that form the Triple Crown of Motorsports.

The circuit has been called “an exceptional location of glamour and prestige”, so now, Monaco is preparing to open its doors on a celebratory 80th edition as the world-famous Monaco Grand Prix returns to Monte Carlo for fast and furious fun.

Renowned for its tight bends and tricky obstacles, the track for this Grand Prix will once again push drivers to their limits as they speed past monuments like The Grand Hotel and of course the picturesque Port Hercule.

Being one of the only tracks on the Formula 1 circuit to feature trackside berths, alongside the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, securing a mooring right alongside the action is the best way for the fans to fully immerse themselves in the electrified atmosphere.

F1 Monaco Grand Prix 2023 Betting Analysis

Max Verstappen continues to pace all drivers in points, while teammate Sergio Pérez continues to nip at his heels.

Monaco is a road course and a difficult one at that. A win at Circuit de Monaco is a career highlight for any driver so expect an excellent showdown this weekend.

The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of the Principate, with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as the tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One.

Despite the relatively low average speeds, the Mediterranean circuit is a dangerous place to race due to how narrow the track is and the race often involves the intervention of a safety car.

It is the only Grand Prix that does not adhere to the FIA’s mandated 305-kilometer (190-mile) minimum race distance for F1 races.

Once again, Verstappen is the favorite to win, and with good reason. His push up the grid in Miami earned him Driver of the Day alongside his win, however, he has crashed at Monaco in the past, and he is competing against a similar car with teammate Pérez the driver pushing him the most each race, and it can be argued that the Dutch-Belgian is not the best road course driver.

Pérez is the Monaco GP defending champion, which is a significant reason that he remains life to win this weekend.
