The Shadwell Turf Mile will be held in the Keeneland Race Course and will be raced on a 1 1/16-mile circuit. The date is on October 1, 2021. This circuit is grade 1 and as the name says, it goes 1 mile on turf.

It got its latest name, as the Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes in 2004.

The race purse was increased to $750,000 in 2012 and became Keeneland’s first million-dollar race in 2014.

It takes place yearly in October and has a “Win and You’re in” label (referring to the Breeders Cup Mile), which makes it more attractive.

The time record was set back in the year 2000, with “Altibr” managing to run the mile in 1:33.72. Although, the 2020’s winner, Ivar (BRZ), finished close with a time of 1:33:99.
