Why Bet on Vasiliy Lomachenko

The former No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world,  Vasiliy Lomachenko, continues his quest to get back to the top as he collides with former lightweight champion Richard Commey.

At first glance, a -700 line may be startling and a suggestion of a fighter being overvalued.

However, it’s the contrary for  Vasiliy “Loma” Lomachenko, who has been a four-figure favorite in all of the fights there have been odds available for, except Guillermo Rigondeaux in 2017 and Teofimo Lopez last year.

Why Bet on Richard Commey

Commey won the vacant IBF lightweight title in 2019. He defended it once before colliding with Teofimo Lopez and getting knocked out in the second round.

That was the first knockout loss of his career and he now sports a record of 30-3 with 27 wins by knockout.

With that type of knockout-to-win ratio, the Ghana native has some serious power in his hands.

He has a good jab he sets all of his other strikes up with, but at times when his confidence rises, his hands drop, which can put him in a vulnerable spot against other power punchers.

Final Betting Analysis: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs. Richard Commey

Loma’s game plan was clear after losing his three world titles to Teofimo Lopez in 2020: beat Lopez’s previous opponents.

He knocked out Masayoshi Nakatani in June and now moves on to Richard Commey.

Vasyl has an outstanding fight IQ matched with excellent footwork perfected in years of traditional Ukrainian dance as a young man, and we are backing him up with our betting token for this match-up.
