Amanda Serrano vs. Nina Meinke Preview and Free Pick

Last Updated on February 28, 2024 3:40 pm by Erwin Noguera

Amanda Serrano and Nina Meinke are two of the best featherweight boxers in women’s boxing today, and they’re ready for a championship showdown in Puerto Rico.

Amanda Serrano has several advantages heading into this fight with Nina Meinke. As a seven-division world champion, she has much more experience fighting at the championship level than her opponent. She has been battle-tested against many top boxers in multiple weight classes.

Meinke will be looking to use her boxing and footwork skills to get past Serrano from the outside. Although she is not known as a powerful puncher, with only four knockouts in 21 professional fights, she has excellent technique and precision with her punches, using her jab to control the range and set up fast combinations.

This championship clash will be Serrano’s first fight in her native Puerto Rico since 2016. After years of competing mainly in the United States, Serrano wanted to bring a great event home. Meinke gets in the way of Serrano’s homecoming celebration, making this matchup an intriguing stylistic showdown between two determined featherweight queens.

Why Bet on Amanda Serrano?

Serrano, nicknamed “The Real Deal” and “La Tigresa,” is the unified WBC, WBO, and IBF featherweight champion and one of the most successful women boxers of all time. The Puerto Rican star has held world titles in seven different weight classes, a feat no male or female boxer has achieved before. At 35, she is still in her athletic prime and has a 28-fight unbeaten streak.

Most recently, Serrano earned a unanimous decision victory over WBO mandatory challenger Danila Ramos in November 2022, making history as the main event in the first unified women’s world championship fight contested over 12 three-minute rounds. Against Ramos, Serrano showed excellent boxing skills, using her jab and footwork to overcome her opponent.

Why Bet on Nina Meinke?

From Germany and nicknamed “The Brave,” Meinke is the IBF’s No. 1 featherweight contender. She got her title shot by winning the IBF Intercontinental belt in her last fight. With an 18-3 professional record, Meinke has less experience than Serrano but has shown steady improvement in recent bouts.

The 30-year-old challenger hopes to pull off the upset against Serrano in front of fans from the champion’s hometown in Puerto Rico.

The German boxer comes into this fight with a winning streak. In her last fight in October 2022, she defeated Laura Ledezma by unanimous decision to capture the IBF Intercontinental featherweight title. Ledezma provided some tough competition, but Meinke boxed smartly and used her footwork and combinations to outmaneuver her opponent in 10 rounds.

With momentum on her side, Meinke has a shot at the unified champion. Her recent form suggests she will come ready to test her skills against one of the best boxers in the world.

Final Betting Analysis: Amanda Serrano vs. Nina Meinke

For Amanda Serrano to win this fight and defend her titles, she needs to use her reach and height advantage to control the distance and connect her powerful left straight punch.

La Tigresa is an excellent counterattacker, so she will look to make the German miss and pay with precise combinations. In addition, Serrano should use lateral movement and angles to counter Meinke’s high-pressure style. Likewise, if the Puerto Rican can avoid getting caught up in The Brave’s type of fight and control the action from the outside, she should be able to overcome the challenger.

Ultimately, this fight comes down to Amanda Serrano’s power and experience against Nina Meinke’s heart and determination. The local is the biggest puncher and the most experienced veteran, having held world titles in seven weight divisions.

Look for Serrano to continue to dominate as she works towards another knockout victory. However, Meinke will go down fighting, but eventually, she will not have enough firepower to compete. As a result, our bet will be a victory by TKO for The Real Deal in the last round while pleasing the fans of her hometown in Puerto Rico.
