Matchday 15 of the Brasileirão will still end tonight, with the confrontation between Goiás and Atlético Mineiro. All other games took place on Saturday and Sunday, with most of them taking place on the last day of the weekend.
The 15th round again showed the strength of Botafogo and the difficulty for the other contenders for the title in keeping up with it. Flamengo, Fluminense, and Palmeiras stumbled, allowing São Paulo to approach, which reached 4th place.
At the bottom of the table, Coritiba managed to draw with Cruzeiro, but still haven’t escaped the relegation zone. América Mineiro remains the worst team in the championship, tied in number of points with Vasco (9).

Fluminense and Flamengo represent one of the greatest rivalries in Brazil, and the match between them could not be anything less than electrifying. With both teams struggling to get closer to the top positions, the game reflected this need for victory on both sides.
Fluminense opened the scoring in a beautiful play by Arias, but the video referee observed and signaled a foul seconds before the goal. The same happened with Gabriel Barbosa for Flamengo. He also managed to score a goal, but the move was invalidated, as defender Pablo had pushed forward Cano seconds ago.
This was a very balanced game and reflected the potential of both teams. The Flu had the technical quality of lateral Marcelo as its main output, while Fla sought the Uruguayan De Arrascaeta to escape the pressure of his opponent.
At the end of the game, the result did not please either side, since Botafogo, the leader, won again and distanced itself from the top of the table.

Another day and another dull draw for Palmeiras, who got even farther from the top of the league after Botafogo’s victory. In a game that doesn’t bring too much, the Verdão and Inter didn’t even achieve the double-digit in shots on target between the two teams. For the Porto Alegre side was a good result that helps them in their quest for the top of the table and keep their 3 points distance from the Paulistas.
Now the defending champions are 14 points from the top and the mountain looks even higher after every matchday. And their issues in the attack are worrying, especially considering that they don’t have any player at the top of a scorers’ table that, apart from Tiquinho Soares, doesn’t show anything from another world in 15 games.

São Paulo is filling its fans with hope after the good football shown in the last rounds of the Brasileirão. With three wins in the last five games, São Paulo reached fourth place in the table, ahead of Fluminense and Palmeiras, who stumbled in the last round.
Coach Dorival Júnior has done a job worthy of much praise. The Tricolor Paulista was once again the great protagonist of the game, imposing its way of playing and seeking the goal from start to finish. The good recent signings and the recovery of the potential of important athletes contributed significantly to the victories and the increase in the performance of the entire team.
If they continue to play like this, São Paulo will be able to guarantee qualification for the following year’s Libertadores, bringing much joy to their fans.
