The qualified teams for the Champions League semifinals were defined, and once again, Real Madrid showed its greatness, eliminating the reigning champion, Manchester City.

The English side could not make their home ground respected and lost on penalties. Meanwhile, Arsenal will not be able to play the final at Wembley either, as they were knocked out of Europe by Bayern.

Borussia Dortmund did not shrink at home, knocking out Atletico Madrid, and PSG managed the comeback in Spain to defeat Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona.

Despite winning the first leg (2-3), Barcelona was stunned at home and lost 1-4 to PSG.

Incredibly, Raphinha gave the Culés the lead after 12 minutes with a ball that rebounded to him after a pass from Lamine Yamal, but at 29′ Ronald Araújo saw red for a foul on Bradley Barcola, a situation that changed the course of the match.

First, it was Ousmane Dembélé who equalized at 40′ after a cross from Barcola, Vitinha made the second from mid-range (54′), Kylian Mbappé scored the third from the penalty spot at 61′, and the same player closed the account at 89′, taking advantage of a rebound from the Catalan defense.

The aggregate score was 6-4 for the French, who returned to the semifinals of this tournament, something that had not happened for two years.

The hierarchy that Borussia Dortmund lacked on other occasions appeared this time. In Germany, they defeated Atlético de Madrid 4-2 in a great match to reach the next round with a 5-4 aggregate score.

In the 33rd minute, Julian Brandt opened the account with a cross-shot that Jan Oblak could not keep out, and five minutes later, Ian Maatsen scored the second with a similar shot. The Colchonero woke up and equalized with goals from Mats Hummels (against, 49′) and Ángel Correa (64′).

At that moment, it was the Spaniards who were qualifying, but Niclas Füllkrug headed in the third goal at 71′, and Marcel Sabitzer closed the scoring with a left-footed shot that Oblak could not reach in the 74th minute.

The aggregate score was 5-4 for Dortmund, who had not reached the Champions League semifinals since 2013.

Bayern Munich’s supremacy over Arsenal is absolute, and this time was no exception, winning 1-0 in Germany and qualifying 3-2 on aggregate.

The only goal came in the 62nd minute when left-back Raphael Guerreiro crossed, and midfielder Joshua Kimmich, by surprise, headed the ball into the net.

Undoubtedly, the Gunners had high hopes of being able to qualify this time due to their good performance and the poor level of the Germans in the Bundesliga. But it was not possible.

Since the 2008-2009 season, Bayern have reached eight Champions League semifinals.

Despite drawing at home, Real Madrid showed their greatness in Europe and eliminated Manchester City on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The Iberian team took the lead after 12 minutes when Rodrygo shot at goal on a counterattack. Ederson rejected the ball, but the Brazilian striker was lucky enough to get the ball again and just had to push it in. In the second half, the Citizens reached parity in a similar way when Kevin De Bruyne took advantage of a rebound by Antonio Rüdiger to send the ball into the net (76′).

In the penalty shootout, Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic missed, so the Casa Blanca is back in the semis to face Bayern München. The aggregate score of this key was 4-4.
