Francisco Sebastián Córdova Reyes is a Mexican soccer player who was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, on June 12, 1997. He plays as an offensive midfielder in the Liga MX for Tigres UANL. He has his debut as a professional in 2016, with Alebrijes de Oaxaca.

First Years

When Córdova was only 14 years old, he was into the America sub-15 category, a team with which he played 4 games and scored 2 goals. Thanks to this short, but very productive performance; he was promoted to the under-17 category to play in the 2014 and 2015 tournaments, where he managed to play 36 games scoring 7 goals.

In the 2016 Apertura tournament, he was on loan in the Mexican Ascent League team, Alebrijes de Oaxaca, but, in this team, he only saw action for 21 minutes in two games played. His professional debut was in a match for the Copa MX against Murciélagos.

After this internship in Oaxaca, Córdova returned to Club América at the end of 2016, where he managed to score 12 goals in 30 games played with America’s U-20 subsidiary. This earned him a promotion to the first team, and he made his debut in a CONCACAF Champions League match against the Panamanian team, Tauro Futbol Club.

After this, he was on loan again, but this time to the first division team, Necaxa. His first match with the Necaxa shirt was in the Mexican Super Cup, where he managed to score the only goal for his team, which gave them victory against Monterrey and, achieved the first professional title of his career.

Francisco Córdova has been repeatedly called up for the Mexican soccer team. His first game for the national team was in 2019 when he provided the assist for his team’s second goal. He then scored his first goal for Mexico against Bermuda.
