We are now on the final matchday in the Premier League, and things have been locked down at the top six. As things stand, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle, Liverpool, and Brighton have taken those spots, with the first four teams already assured of Champions League football.

With that solved, we have our focus placed on seeing a team do its last attempt to get out of the relegation zone.

This clash will place the 14th-placed West Ham against the 18th-placed Leicester City, who is fighting to keep its top-flight status. The Foxes will need both, to get the victory and for Bournemouth to stop Everton to get out of the Relegation Zone.

Why Bet on Leicester?

Leicester City’s history is a tragic one. They were one of the best-managed football teams in the world a couple of years ago. Now they are an example of how everything can go wrong at a terrifying speed. After their miraculous title in 2016, they were quiet in midtable for some seasons. Then Brendan Rodgers came and everything changed.

They were close to achieving Champions League football two years in a row, falling in the last match tragically. However, FA Cup and Community Shield titles were enough to gain applause. Unfortunately, putting together a squad that can compete with the Big Six is not cheap, even if you don’t over-expend in the transfer market, and with the pandemic putting King Power (owners of the club) in red numbers, everything went south quickly. Now they have an overpaid and unbalanced roster that will, more than likely, take them to Championship.

This is not the end of the world. They can take the example of Villareal, another great project with similar antics that went down surprisingly almost 10 years ago, after delighting the world with the likes of Forlan and Riquelme in the 2000s. Last season the Yellow Submarine was taking Bayern out of the Champions League quarter-finals, so everything is not lost. However, they must be careful, as expending more than one year in the second division could be a disaster.

Why Bet on West Ham?

West Ham could perfectly be in the same position as Leicester at this moment, however, they managed to pull the chestnuts out of the fire. The Hammers put together one of the most promising projects of the last years. The past season, we could even say that they took Leicester’s place as top six disrupters.

However, this season they just deflated, and in what a manner. Looking at last season’s squad, we could even argue that the current team is even better, but they never show it on the pitch. They were missing a prolific number 9 and bought Italian regular Gianluca Scamacca, alongside other internationals with their countries like Paqueta, Aguerd (World Cup semifinalist with Morocco), Cornet, and Kehrer.

None of them have shown a good enough level. Surprisingly, they are in the Conference League final, so they could even play Europa League football next season.

Final Betting Analysis: Leicester vs. West Ham

Two once-promising projects now languish at the bottom half of the table. West Ham has nothing at stake, having assured its permanence with an emphatic win over Manchester United some weeks ago. Leicester, meanwhile, has all its hopes in a miracle. Not because they cannot win, but due to Everton having an equally accessible rival in Bournemouth.

Whatever the case, they have to fulfill their part in front of their fans. This Foxes’ team is lacking in all departments, but that squad that challenged the Big Six not long ago is still there, so we believe they’ll pull out a win. Go for a 3-2 win for the locals.

Go for Leicester’s victory at -103. If you bet $100 in a win for the locals at such odds, you could get $97.09 for a total payout of $197.09.
