Arsenal quickly retook the lead in the Premier League while the two Manchester teams showed that they will fight to the bitter end.
Manchester City could not at Nottingham Forest’s home and drew 1-1. The Citizens took the lead at 41′ with a goal by Bernardo Silva, but at 84′ Chris Wood appeared, who arrived on loan from Newcastle in January and had entered a few minutes earlier, to score his first goal and declare the tie. Keylor Navas was once again the figure of the match. Now Arsenal has 54 points after 23 games, while City has 52 from 24 games.
Manchester United is not far behind in the fight and is 5 points behind Arsenal after beating Leicester 3-0 with a brace from Marcus Rashford and a goal from Jadon Sancho. Rashford is the fittest striker in 2023 and the player who has scored the most goals since the World Cup: 16 goals in 17 games. The Foxes are 14th with 24 points, close to relegation places.
Tottenham regained fourth place after a long time after beating West Ham 2-0 and thanks to Newcastle’s defeat at St. James Park against Liverpool (0-2). Emerson Royal and Heung-Min Son scored for the Spurs who reached 42 points.
Chelsea continues to suffer heavy defeats and this time they lost at home to Southampton, the last of the tournament. It was a 0-1 for the men of Spanish Rubén Sellés, who was making his coaching debut, after his captain James Ward-Prowse’s goal.
In other results, Brentford and Crystal Palace drew 1-1 with Vitaly Janelt’s agonizing goal for the locals on the last play, while Eberechi Eze had scored for the visit. Everton won by the minimum against Leeds (1-0) and came out of relegation, while now they sank their rival who is 19th with 19 points. In the other relegation duel, Marcus Tavernier gave Bournemouth a 0-1 victory over Wolverhampton. The Cherries also left the red zone and are 17th with 21 points, while the Wolves are not far away and are 15th with 23 points.

The Gunners opened Matchday 24 visiting Aston Villa and they had to come back twice to beat them 2-4 in a great game and become leaders again.
The Villains took the lead just after 5 minutes with Ollie Watkins, but Bukayo Saka equalized 10 minutes later. Around half an hour Coutinho put the locals back on the scoreboard, but Zinchenko scored his first goal with the London team and equalized again at 61′.
It seemed everything was going to be tied, but at minute 90+3′ Jorginho, who arrived at the club a few weeks ago, shoot, the ball hit the post and bounced off the back of Dibu Martínez, a former Arsenal player, and it was 2-3. Liverpool continues to improve and already had Virgil Van Dijk in defense, and it showed since they managed to keep a new clean sheet against a great rival like Newcastle.
