Nicolás Federico López Alonso, better known as “Diente López” is an Uruguayan soccer player who was born on October 1, 1993, in Montevideo, Uruguay and currently plays as a striker for the Liga MX team, Tigres UANL.
Diente López is a footballer with a spectacular left-foot profile, but he can play calmly in any part of the attack zone. However, where he performs best is, without a doubt, in the wings.
First Years
His beginnings in professional soccer were at the National Club of Uruguay, where he made his debut in 2011, in his team’s 3-1 victory against Central Español. It was his debut game and the coach placed him as a starter, he played 90 minutes and scored the third goal for his team. In his second match, he managed to score the first brace of his career against Defensor Sporting, in a match where he came on in the second half.
Thanks to the excellent presentations that López had in this short time in Uruguayan soccer, he was signed by Roma, in Italy. In his first game in Serie A, he came on for the historic Francesco Totti 5 minutes from the end of the game, where he managed to score the equalizer for his team.
After two good seasons at Roma, López’s transfer to Udinese was confirmed, a team where he spent 1 season and played 28 games, scoring 3 goals.
After this, Diente Lopez’s level was a bit affected, and he was on loan in 3 different teams during the next three years. He started with Hellas Verona, where he played 26 games, then Granada (Spain), where he only played 10 games, and, in Nacional (Uruguay), where he had a better performance with 11 goals in 21 games.
Thanks to this good participation in Uruguay, López got a good contract in Brazil, where he played for the next 3 seasons, playing 168 games, where he scored 40 goals.
Finally, at the best moment of his career, Diente Lopez announced his signing for the Mexican team Tigres UANL in 2020, a team where he currently plays. From this moment, until now, he has played 41 games and has scored 21 goals.
