The 23-year-old French star scored in the 94th minute and, thanks to an excellent individual play, managed to define a match that seemed destined to end 0-0.

Although Lionel Messi has historically grown against Real Madrid, he came to this game with a bad streak that he could not end, since, after a discreet game, where he showed himself as a false nine at times, but, far out of the danger zone and his partnership with Mabppé only worked in the first 15 minutes of the match.

As the match began and emotions were running high, the fans in the Parc des Princes were eager for a win for their team in this first leg of the round of 16.

As we had pointed out, Neymar was already fully recovered and was at Pochettino’s disposal for this match, but he also started from the bench.

The first half, like almost the entire game, was dominated exclusively by PSG, they managed to execute many attacks on the wing defended by Carvajal, with a giant Mbappé wreaking havoc on Real Madrid’s weak defense.

As in any round of 16 matches and, above all, when they are such powerful teams, there comes a time when the match ceases to be attractive in terms of football and kicks begin on the part of both teams, something that happened in this match from the minute 40.

After many approximations and, with a large number of scoring chances created by PSG but without scoring a goal, the first part of this spectacular match ended with a score of 0-0.

The dynamic of the game did not change in the second half, but we could see PSG more direct. In just 10 minutes they managed to generate at least three scoring chances that made Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois a figure, especially due to a spectacular save on Mbappé who shot across from the penalty spot.

After a tremendous insistence and an excellent play by Mbappé managing to enter Real Madrid’s area, Carvajal fouled him which was decreed as a penalty, so PSG’s first goal was approaching.

If the Real Madrid goalkeeper was missing something, it was to cover a penalty against one of the best players in history, Lionel Messi at 61 minutes when he launched himself to his left and guessed Messi’s shot to get the save.

Despite the failure, Messi was not calm, he was looking, together with Mbappé, for a way to put his team in the lead since they continued to dominate the match. This was accentuated after the entry of Neymar Jr. With 20 minutes to go.

Ancelotti was not far behind either, he also wanted to play his game and try to score the goal that would give them the advantage with less than 10 minutes remaining and Hazard entered the field instead of Vinicius Jr.

Finally, when everything seemed to be heading for a 0-0 draw in Paris, a back-heel pass from Neymar Jr. to Mbappé, who overflowed down the left-wing and left a couple of Real Madrid defenders on the way, managed to score the 1- 0 that gave them the advantage and the victory in this first leg of the round of 16.
