Semifinals: Jamaica vs. Mexico Preview and Free Picks

Last Updated on July 10, 2023 3:22 pm by Erwin Noguera

The 17th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup has just reached the Semifinals, and we are proud to see the teams that made it this far.

This is due to the original prediction we made before the Gold Cup began, where we said that we expected Mexico to end up in first place, with the USA as Runner Ups, and Jamaica achieving the 3rd place over Qatar.

When we look at the two semifinals, we can see that Qatar is no longer in the picture, but we do have USA vs Panama on one side, and Mexico vs. Jamaica on the other, which means that our top 3 teams’ prediction still stands as of this point.

Now, we fully focus on the clash between the Mexican Team and the Jamaican team. Both are fighting to make it to the finals and looking out strong.

We are going to dive into the details you will need to know as we get into the second semifinal match.

When:

Wednesday, July 12th – 08:00 PM ET at the Allegiant Stadium, in Paradise, Nevada

Moneyline odds:

Jamaica +500

Mexico -193

Draw:

Why Bet on Jamaica?

The Reggae Boyz maintained their dominance over Guatemala, who has never defeated them in five Gold Cup matches, scoring a 1-0 victory to punch their ticket into the semi-finals. Jamaica is looking forward to getting to the finals to achieve its first cup, as it has been runner-up in previous years.

Things are going to get tough as they’d need to beat the two strongest teams to hold the championship cup high.

Why Bet on Mexico?

Mexico reached the semis after defeating Costa Rica 2-0 on Saturday at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. El Tri has grown in stature over the past year and will view this game as an opportunity to field their young talents.

The Mexican players have shown glimpses of their potential this year and will look to prove their mettle this week.

Final Betting Analysis: Jamaica vs. Mexico

El Tri looks to clinch a ninth Gold Cup trophy, while the Reggae Boyz have yet to win the championship. Jamaica does have the possibility to pull off an upset but they would need to play out of their skins to get a spot in the finals.

Mexico is the better team on paper, however, and should be able to win this game without too many issues.

Go for a victory for Mexico at -193. If you bet $100 at such odds, you could get $51.81 for a total payout of $151.81.
