Uruguay vs. Venezuela World Cup Qualifiers

On Tuesday, February 1st, we go right into the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers to see the match between 10th placed Venezuela and 5th placed Uruguay.

Venezuela looks to close the gap to the rest of the teams, as the team from Uruguay is looking forward to keeping or improving their current spot as one of the 4 secured teams to get to the World Cup.

This match will be played at the Estadio Centenario in Monte Video, Uruguay at 06:00 pm E.T. and broadcasted by Paramount+ and ESPN Play.

Why Bet On Uruguay?

Uruguay has slipped to fifth in the standings after Tabarez’s defeats – allowing a spot in the inter-confederation playoffs.

Only one point separates them from Peru in the fourth and final automatic qualification spot.

Not since 2006 have the two-time World Cup winners failed to qualify for the finals tournament.

They have made it out of the group stage in all three subsequent editions.

Alonso will be determined to avoid doing it the hard way by climbing that 4rth spot.

Why Bet On Venezuela?

Salomon Rondon was a different beast in the Venezuela shirt versus Bolivia on Friday, scoring three of his side’s four goals to restore a bit of parity in an otherwise doomed qualification period.

As eye-catching as that performance was, only a third win from 15 matches in Qualifying means that rock-bottom Venezuela now cannot earn automatic qualification for Qatar and will need a miracle to even climb up to fifth and make the playoffs.

Betting line:

Uruguay: -312

Venezuela: +880

Draw: +370

The world’s 59th-ranked nation, seem consigned to another year without a finals appearance and are still waiting for their first-ever qualification to the World Cup.

Those hopes are in trouble this week, as Pekerman’s men played seven and lost seven away from home in the qualification process so far.

Venezuela did manage to hold Uruguay to a goalless stalemate during their confront back in June.

Alonso’s side aims to prove why five places and nine points separate the two sides in the table this week.

That makes Uruguay our betting pick for the match.
