The National Football League preseason will have an attractive duel featuring one of the great candidates for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, once the Philadelphia Eagles face the Cleveland Browns.

The Eagles got off on the wrong foot in preseason play, losing 20-19 to the Baltimore Ravens, one of the most improved franchises for 2023.

The Browns also opened with a 17-15 loss to the Washington Commanders, where quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was the standout.

When:

Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 pm ET at the Lincoln Financial Field

Moneyline odds:

Eagles -115

Browns +110

Where Can I Watch?

CBS Sports, Fox Sports, fuBO TV, and NFL Network

Why Bet on the Eagles?

The Eagles are playing their first home game of the preseason and weight being the reigning Super Bowl finalists on their backs, so expectations for them are high.

In their first game, they lost 20-19 to the Baltimore Ravens, but Terrell Edmunds was outstanding on defense, with a steal. The quarterback with the most passes was Tanner McKee with 20, although only got 10, and completed 148 yards.

The Birds will have to face 2023 with defensive losses such as CJ Gardner-Johnson, Marcus Epps, TJ Edwards, Kyzir White, and Javon Hargrave. On offense, there is only one painful departure, which was Miles Sanders, who plays running back.

James Bradberry and Darius Slay remain as the team’s cornerbacks and AJ Brown and Devonta Smith may continue to be one of the great pairs of wide receivers in the NFL. The big question marks are the linebackers and safeties, so Nakobe Dean will have to step up to assume that responsibility.

Why Bet on the Browns?

The Cleveland Browns are called upon to raise their game after a 2022 to-forget, finishing last in the American Conference North Division with a 7-10 record. They were the fifth-worst team in the AFC.

Although the Browns started the preseason with a 21-16 victory over the Jets, in their second game they fell 17-15 to the Washington Commanders. However, the performance of quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who completed 9 of 10 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown, was noteworthy.

Thompson-Robinson had already shown his great start by completing 8 of 11 attempts for 82 yards, something attractive for a fifth-round rookie.

The bad news for Cleveland is that linebacker Jacob Phillips will miss the entire season with a torn pectoral suffered in the preseason. Since coming to the Browns in 2020, he has completed 88 tackles and three catches.

Final Betting Analysis: Eagles vs. Browns

The Philadelphia Eagles are a highly followed team in this NFL season, thanks to what they did in the 2022 /2023 campaign and because they continue to keep a group of interesting players despite the losses, that’s why, although the Browns have shown interesting things in their first two outings of the preseason, The Birds are the favorites to get the win at home.

The numbers at MyBookie.ag have Eagles as the favorite, as the Moneyline for them shows -115, meanwhile Browns have +110.

In 2022 the duel between these two teams ended in a 21-20 victory for the Eagles, who have taken three of the last five games.

Go for a straight Eagles win in the Moneyline. If you bet $100 at -115, you will gain $86 for a total payout of $186.
