The second week of the 2023/24 NFL season is history, and all the teams are already showing their claws in this championship start.

Unlike week 1, in this week 2 we had results a little more in line with what we expected, since the favorite teams mostly achieved victories. However, the Bengals could not win at home against the Ravens, and the Carolina Panthers could not win against the Saints.

Similarly, we also saw the first win of the season for the Chiefs and Bills, while the Buccaneers, 49ers, Eagles, and Dolphins added the second win.

Let’s see what happened in the most important games of Week 2 of the 2023/24 NFL season.

The game that kicked off week 2 was between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings, which was part of this week’s TNF and was full of emotions from start to finish.

The Eagles started with a 13-7 lead after the second quarter. Then, the game began to drift away as the Eagles went on a 14-7 run in the third quarter to make the score 24-14. However, the Vikings returned the blow with a 14-7 score in the last quarter, but this was not enough, and they ended up falling by 34-28.

In this game, Jalen Hurts shined for the Eagles with 18/23 pass completions for 193 yards and 1 touchdown. Also, Hurts himself managed to make 2 carries that ended with a touchdown.

Another of the games we enjoyed in week 2 of the NFL was between the Bengals and the Ravens, where the visitors got their second win of the season against a Bengals that could not do anything to come back from the scoreboard.

The Ravens got off to a good start in this game by scoring 7 points in the first quarter and, more importantly, held the home team scoreless. However, the Bengals responded with a 10-6 run in the second quarter to go into halftime down 10-13.

Then, in both the third and final quarters, both teams were really good on offense and defense, as they signed the stalemate with a score of 7-7 each quarter. As a result, the Ravens took advantage of that partial victory in the first half to take the 27-24 victory and their second win of the season.

NFL Week 2 – Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Kansas City Chiefs – Roundup

The reigning NFL champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, started this season with a tough loss in their first game. However, they bounced back in Week 2 with an excellent away win over the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 17-9.

Patrick Mahomes took the lead in this game for the Chiefs, and, with 29/4 pass completions, 305 yards, and 2 touchdowns, he was his team’s hero.

The first two quarters were even, as the game went into halftime with a narrow 7-6 victory for the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the Kansas defense came back from the break as a practically impenetrable wall, as they prevented all the offenses of the home team and, in addition, managed to score 7 more points to reach the last quarter with a 14-6 advantage.

Finally, both teams scored a field goal in the last quarter to give the home team their first victory.

NFL Week 2 – Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers– Roundup

Finally, another of the teams favored to win this season’s Vince Lombardi Trophy, the San Francisco 49ers, sealed their second victory by defeating the Los Angeles Rams 30-23 at SoFi Stadium.

Matthew Stafford did not have his best night and was one of the main reasons the home team could not do much in the game.

The 49ers started this game with a good rhythm and a great defense, as they got a 7-3 partial victory in the first quarter. Then, the locals evened the score 17-17 after two successful offenses in the second quarter.

However, the Rams’ drive ended when Stafford began to make mistakes on offense, and in the third quarter, the 49ers scored 3 more points to go ahead 20-17. Finally, the 49ers sealed their victory after an excellent performance by Brock Prudy and Christian McCaffrey to claim their second win of the season.
