NFL Week 6 Roundup

Last Updated on October 17, 2023 9:43 pm by Erwin Noguera

A weekend of surprises in the NFL regular season, as the two most important candidates, the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles, fell to teams that were not so powerful.

The 49ers came in as absolute contenders against the Browns, who showed a defensive solidity that surprised San Francisco.

The Eagles also played away from home and were unable to overcome the good work of the New York Jets, who prevented the good performance of quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was intercepted on three occasions.

The Dallas Cowboys recovered after the beating in Week 5 and defeated the Los Angeles Chargers at home, leaving their record at 4-2.

The big surprise of the week in the NFL took place in Cleveland, when the Browns defeated the San Francisco 49ers 19-17, with an excellent job by the defense.

San Francisco had only 107 yards passing and a career average of 108, far from what the undefeated franchise and the great favorite to win the Super Bowl, is accustomed to.

Browns quarterback Phillip Walker had a bad afternoon, suffering two interceptions. However, Kareem Hunt scored a touchdown, while Dustin Hopkins contributed 13 units with his kicks.

Thanks to this victory, Cleveland has a 3-2 record and the 49ers are 5-1, still leaders of the West in the National Conference.

It was a weekend of unexpected results, as the Philadelphia Eagles also lost their undefeated record and fell 20-14 to the New York Jets.

It was a low-scoring game, but it should be noted that Breece Hall had 12 carries, with 39 yards and a touchdown, combined with quarterback Zach Wilson, who advanced 186 yards with 19 of 33 passes.

Another name to highlight was Garrett Wilson, with eight receptions, 90 yards, and an average of 11.2 yards, and kicker Greg Zuerlein contributed 12 units.

Defensively, Tony Adamas, Bryce Hall, and Quinnen Williams intercepted the ball on at least one occasion, leaving quarterback Jalen Hurts without much room for action, who was outplayed.

The Jets evened their record at 3-3, while the Eagles have a 5-1 record and lead the National Conference East.
