At just 20 years old, Carlos Alcaraz has quickly risen to stardom and is poised to win yet another ATP Masters 1000 title. With his aggressive baseline game and fighting speed, Alcaraz has proven he can beat the best players on tour. Notable Player Absences
Two of the biggest names in tennis will not participate in the 2024 Miami Open presented by Itau. Novak Djokovic announced earlier this month that he will not be playing in the tournament. This is the second consecutive year Djokovic will be absent from the event. The world number one has won the Miami Open six times but last competed there in 2019.
Rafael Nadal will also not travel to Miami. The Spaniard opts to skip early hard-court tournaments like Indian Wells and Miami as he focuses his efforts on preparing for the clay-court season of the ATP Tour. Nadal’s priority will be to prepare his body to compete on clay courts in a few months. While he has never won the Miami Open, he has been runner-up five times. We will miss his thrilling clashes with Djokovic and Roger Federer in Miami over the years.
