However, the ‘Merengues’ are not at their best right now. They have won only two of their last seven matches and are coming off a 0–2 home defeat to Celta in LaLiga. This run of poor results has cost them the top spot in the league, and they now sit four points behind leaders Barcelona.

Xabi Alonso has struggled to give the team consistent high-level performances, and there haven’t been many matches where Madrid has looked dominant.

The only injured player for City is Mateo Kovačić, who hasn’t played since October 21, while Rodri, who was injured on October 5 and has only played a couple of minutes on November 2, remains doubtful.
