For the Bengals, the keys this week are clear: avoid another collapse like in Week 8, shore up the run defense, protect Flacco better, and stay disciplined in the fourth quarter.

Cincinnati fell 27-18 at Green Bay, spoiling Joe Flacco’s Bengals debut. The packers built and maintained control, thanks in part to strong play from Josh Jacobs (93 rushing yards, two touchdowns) and a key 31-yard third-down conversion by rookie WR Matthew Golden late in the game.
The Bengals face a daunting road test in Week 7, traveling to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers on Thursday Night Football. Cincinnati’s recent QB shakeup is front and center: Flacco, now the starter, replaces Jake Browning after Browning’s struggles.
Flacco must generate offense against a respectable Steelers front, while Cincy’s receivers (including Chase, if healthy) will be tested by Pittsburgh’s corners. The Bengals’ offensive line upgrades (via Patrick’s return) might help in pass protection.

The Bengals will continue operating without Joe Burrow, and Questions loom over the Quarterback position; head coach Zac Taylor has not fully committed to Jake Browning for the start. Recently, Cincinnati acquired veteran Joe Flacco from the Browns, and he is expected to start at some points this week, possibly in this game.

Detroit’s defense will test Cincinnati’s offensive line, and unless the Bengals can avoid turnovers and protect the football, they risk being overwhelmed. The Lions are expected to press the Bengals all over the field, and Cincinnati’s margin for error is razor-thin in this interconference showdown.

Cincinnati now travels to Denver for a Monday Night Football matchup in Week 4 against the Broncos, who themselves are 1-2 and coming off close losses. The Bengals will be looking for redemption after their blowout loss, but will be doing so without Burrow, relying again on Browning under center. Denver’s offense under Bo Nix has shown big plays but also turnover issues; their passing game is strong in yardage and occasional explosiveness, but they’ve also had risky throws.Meanwhile, Cincinnati’s weaknesses from Minnesota—turnovers, weak run game, pass protection— remain concerns. So for the Bengals, Week 4 is a chance to bounce back: clean up the mistakes, lean more on the run if possible, protect Browning, and try to force the Broncos into mistakes. If they don’t, this could be another lopsided game.

The Bengals were smashed by the Minnesota Vikings 48-10, suffering their worst loss in franchise history. Backup QB Jake Browning, stepping in for the injured Joe Burrow, threw two interceptions and managed just one touchdown late in garbage time; the offense was plagued by five turnovers overall. Defensively, it was equally rough: the Vikings racked up 352 total yards and exploited Cincinnati for big plays in the run and pass games.
