Pittsburgh return home as underdogs at +142 on the moneyline against Cincinnati’s -170, with the spread at +3.5 and the total set at 43.5 points, another number in the low forties for a team that keeps being priced into grinds. The Steelers are 1-1 but arrive off the worst performance of the young McCarthy era, a 20-3 defeat at Gillette in which the offense never found the end zone and a strip-sack was returned for a score in the fourth quarter. Cincinnati come in at 2-0 and looking like the class of the division, having held Houston to six points at NRG while Joe Burrow threw a pair of touchdowns to Ja’Marr Chase.
Being a home underdog to Cincinnati is not unfamiliar territory for this franchise, and the 3.5 is short enough to leave the door open in a division game where the last ten years of history count for more than the last ten days. The problem is that Pittsburgh have given the market nothing to work with: three points against New England, and a total of 43.5 that assumes they will not need many more than that. Rodgers has one good half and one bad game to his name in black and gold, and until the offense produces something, taking the points is a bet on the rivalry rather than on the team.

Pittsburgh open as 2.5-point road favorites at -148 on the moneyline against Cleveland’s +124, with the total sitting at 38.5, the lowest mark of the week and down from 40.5 at the open. The Steelers are 2-1 after beating Cincinnati 30-27, a result that arrived seven days after they were held to three points at New England. Cleveland are also 2-1, as is every team in this division.
The 30 points against the Bengals remain the outlier rather than the pattern: Pittsburgh are averaging 3.81 yards per play across the season and the offensive line and pass-catching rotation have both been thinned by injury. A 38.5 total in Cleveland on a short week is the market pricing a grind, and the model backs the Steelers by just 1.6 points. Pittsburgh should win it, but nothing about this suggests a comfortable Thursday night.

Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers | Sunday, October 11 | 1:00 PM ET | Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA
Pittsburgh are home favorites at -130 on the moneyline against Indianapolis’s +110, laying 2.5 points with the total set at 44.5, down three from an opening 47.5. The Steelers are 2-2 after losing 27-24 at Cleveland on Thursday night in Week 4, a defeat that cost them a share of the division lead. The Colts arrive at 2-2 off a 30-13 win over Washington in London.
The model does not like this price at all. ESPN’s FPI makes Indianapolis the favorite by 0.2 points with a 51% win probability, against a line that has Pittsburgh laying 2.5 at home. That is close to a pure coin flip being sold as a field-goal edge, and it comes a week after the Colts put 30 points on the board in a foreign country with no apparent difficulty. Pittsburgh need this one more than the record suggests.

Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Sunday, October 18 | 1:00 PM ET | Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL
Pittsburgh head to Tampa as 3-point road favorites at -155 on the moneyline against the Buccaneers’ +130, with the total collapsing to 40.5 from an opening 45.5. The Steelers are 3-2 after beating Indianapolis 34-22 and sit at a plus-2 differential, while Tampa Bay are 1-4 but arrive off the biggest upset of the season: a 24-16 win in Dallas as ten-point underdogs, with rookie Jalon Daniels starting in place of Baker Mayfield and Bucky Irving running for a career-best 165 yards.
The five-point total drop is the largest move on any of these games, and ESPN’s model lands exactly on the posted number: Steelers by 3 with a 61% win probability. When the model and the market agree to the decimal there is usually no edge on the side, which pushes the interest to the total. The question Tampa Bay have not answered is whether the Dallas result was the rookie or the opponent, and Mayfield’s thumb decides which version turns up.
