We’ve reached Week 15 of the NFL, and we’re getting closer to finding out which teams will make the postseason in a year full of surprises.

On one hand, the Kansas City Chiefs can no longer win their division, but beyond that, their playoff chances are in serious danger. If they want to stay alive, they’ll need to beat the Los Angeles Chargers, who are fighting for the AFC West.

In another divisional matchup, the New England Patriots host the Buffalo Bills in a direct battle: a Patriots win would secure the division, while a Bills victory would keep the race alive all the way to the final week.

In the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens—both with losing records—still have a chance to take the division, but they must win because there is no margin for error.

Finally, two of the best teams this season, the Denver Broncos and the Green Bay Packers, face off in what could be a potential Super Bowl preview.

NFL Week 15: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Kansas City Chiefs will not be able to win their tenth consecutive divisional title, but that’s not their biggest concern—they’re now close to being eliminated. With a 6–7 record, they sit third in their division and tenth in the conference, two games behind the Houston Texans. Patrick Mahomes’ team is coming off a home loss to those same Texans, 10–20, and has now dropped two straight and four of its last five. Mahomes was intercepted three times, something that hadn’t happened since 2022 and only the fourth time in his career. Travis Kelce also needs to improve, as he had two drops—eight on the season, the most in the league—and one of them turned into an interception, the third time that has happened this year.

On the other side, the Los Angeles Chargers earned a huge win against the Philadelphia Eagles, beating them 22–19 in overtime thanks to a Cameron Dicker field goal with eight seconds left in regulation and another in overtime. The kicker scored 16 of the team’s 22 points, with the remaining points coming from a touchdown by rookie Omarion Hampton, the third of his career and his first receiving touchdown. The Chargers hold a 9–4 record and are battling the Denver Broncos (11–2) for the division lead. They’ve won two straight and five of their last six.

It has been a dream season for the New England Patriots, who can clinch the division title this week if they win. They hold an 11–2 record compared to the Bills’ 9–4, meaning a victory would give them their first divisional crown since 2019. They are coming off a 33–15 win over the New York Giants and have now recorded 10 straight victories. Drake Maye had an excellent game, completing 24 of 31 passes for 282 yards, two touchdown passes, and no interceptions. Marcus Jones also deserves recognition, scoring on a 94-yard punt return. He has the second-best punt return average in the NFL (18.8) and already has two touchdowns on returns this season.

The Buffalo Bills know they must win—not only to stay in the fight for the division, but because a loss could drop them out of the playoff picture.They sit sixth in the AFC at 9–4, but the Indianapolis Colts are eighth at 8–5.The Bills are coming off a 39–34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals thanks to a strong performance from Josh Allen, who completed 22 of 28 passes for 251 yards, three touchdown passes, added a rushing touchdown, and avoided interceptions.

NFL Week 15: Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens

A few weeks ago, the Cincinnati Bengals pulled off a surprise by beating this same opponent on the road, and they put up a tough fight last weekend but ultimately fell 39–34 to the Buffalo Bills. They have a poor 4–9 record, but the AFC North leaders, the Pittsburgh Steelers, sit at 7–6, so mathematically they are still alive. Against the Bills, Joe Burrow completed 25 of 36 passes for 284 yards, threw four touchdown passes, and was intercepted twice. He now has eight touchdown passes in four games this season.

No one expected this kind of season from the Baltimore Ravens. With a 6–7 record, they are currently out of playoff position, but they still have a chance to reach the postseason. They were riding a five-game winning streak, but now have two straight losses—both at home and both against opponents they couldn’t afford to lose to: the Bengals and the Steelers. That cost them the top spot in the division. Derrick Henry and especially Lamar Jackson are far from their best form.

Surprising season for the Denver Broncos, the best team in the entire NFL with an 11–2 record, and one more win could give them the AFC West title—a division they haven’t won since 2015, the year they claimed their last Super Bowl. They are on a 10-game winning streak, with their latest victory being a 17–24 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, where Bo Nix completed 31 of 38 passes with no interceptions and scored a rushing touchdown. He is also the third quarterback in the NFL with the most pass attempts (470) and completions (297). At home, they haven’t lost since October 13, 2024.

But the Green Bay Packers are not far behind. With a 9–3–1 record, they currently hold the lead in a very tight NFC North, as the Chicago Bears sit at 9–4 and the Detroit Lions at 8–5. The playoff race is intense, and they can’t afford to drop ground. They come into this matchup riding a four-game winning streak, with the last three victories coming against divisional rivals. Their most recent win was a 28–21 triumph over the Bears, with Jordan Love throwing three touchdown passes on 17 completions out of 25 attempts, and Josh Jacobs adding a rushing score.
