This is Champions League week, Matchday 5, and we have several great games between the main contenders that no one will want to miss.

We start by saying that one of the perfect records will come to an end, as Arsenal and Bayern face off in one of the most important matchups of the week.

Likewise, two teams tied on points and who have built a rivalry in recent years, Chelsea and Barcelona, will meet in London.

The reigning champions, PSG, will face a tough visit from Tottenham, while another team with a perfect record, Inter, will travel to Madrid to face Atlético.

Chelsea sit 12th in the table with 7 points and a goal difference of +3. They lost to Bayern in their opener, then defeated Benfica and Ajax at home, and drew in their visit to Qarabag, meaning they have a perfect record at home. They are coming off a 0–2 win over Burnley in the Premier League and are unbeaten in five matches across all competitions, winning four of them. Cole Palmer remains injured.

Barcelona is one spot above the ‘Blues’, with the same number of points and a goal difference of +5. They beat Newcastle and Olympiacos, lost at home to PSG, and are coming off a surprising 3–3 draw away to Club Brugge. They are motivated after crushing Athletic Bilbao 4–0, and they have already recovered Joan García and Raphinha, while Robert Lewandowski is back in top form. Among the absences are Gavi and Pedri, while Marcus Rashford is doubtful.

A huge matchup between the leaders of England and Germany, who also top the Champions League group with perfect records and a +11 goal difference.

They come in motivated after winning the North London derby against Tottenham 4–1, extending their lead at the top by six points. Bayern, for their part, defeated Chelsea, Pafos, Club Brugge, and, most recently, the reigning champions PSG in France, despite playing the entire second half with one man down after Luis Díaz was sent off—he is suspended. They won their first 16 matches of the season, then drew 2–2 with Union Berlin, and are coming off a 6–2 demolition of Freiburg. They are a machine, with Harry Kane scoring 24 goals in 18 games, and Michael Olise adding nine goals and eight assists.

Atlético Madrid did not have the best start to the season and has struggled at times, but they have managed to get back on track. They are on a five-match winning streak, the most recent being a 0–1 league victory over Getafe thanks to an own goal. Jan Oblak, Marcos Llorente, and Giuliano Simeone are doubtful, while Robin Le Normand is out.

Inter sits third in the table, also with a perfect record after beating Ajax, Slavia Praha, USG, and Kairat, the latter being the only team to score against them. They come into this match hurt after losing the derby to Milan this weekend (0–1), dropping from the top of Serie A, and showing how much they are struggling this season against strong opponents.

Tottenham sit 10th with eight points after two home wins and two away draws, making them one of the five unbeaten teams in the tournament. They are coming off a derby loss to Arsenal and have dropped three of their last five matches, with their only win in that stretch coming against Kobenhavn. Brennan Johnson is suspended, while James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma, and Radu Dragusin are injured, and Dominic Solanke is doubtful.
