Visão geral da equipe
The Jets are looking to climb out of a 3-14 finish in 2025, one of the worst seasons in franchise history, though head coach Aaron Glenn was retained for year two, the only team with a top-five pick to keep its coach. New York fired both coordinators, brought in Frank Reich to run the offense, traded quarterback Justin Fields to Kansas City, and acquired veteran Geno Smith from Las Vegas to lead a rebuild that was already fueled by shocking in-season trades of All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams for a haul of premium draft capital.
With that draft capital reinvested into the roster over the offseason, the Jets enter 2026 hoping for real progress under Glenn, even as the betting market still pegs them near the bottom of the AFC East.
Análise da linha ofensiva
New York’s offensive line is the roster’s clear strength, returning four of five starters from a unit that used the same combination in every game last season for the first time since 2012. Left tackle Olu Fashanu and right tackle Armand Membou, both former first-round picks, bookend a group that also includes recently-extended right guard Joe Tippmann, with free-agent addition Dylan Parham stepping in at left guard to replace John Simpson.
Análise da Linha Defensiva
The Jets’ defense was gutted at the 2025 trade deadline when Gardner and Quinnen Williams were both dealt away, leaving defensive tackle Mazi Smith, acquired in the Williams trade, to anchor the interior in 2026. New York used part of its draft windfall on edge rusher David Bailey in the first round and added free agents Joseph Ossai and Kingsley Enagbare to speed up the rebuild, though it’s still very much a unit in transition.
Temporada da NFL de 2026
Semana 4
New York Jets at Chicago Bears | Sunday, October 4 | 1:00 PM ET | Soldier Field, Chicago, IL
New York is a road underdog, priced at +142 on the moneyline against Chicago’s -170, with the Bears favored by 3 points and the total set at 42.5. The Jets have now played three straight competitive games decided by one score or less, and this line suggests the market expects another close one in Chicago.
A road trip against a Bears team playing solid football, with New York looking to turn strong offensive showings into more wins.
Week 3 Recap
Jets 24, Lions 31 | Sunday, September 27 | Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Geno Smith threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns, but Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 99 yards and two scores as Detroit pulled away late. The Jets fell to 1-2 despite a strong showing from their passing game, with Garrett Wilson hauling in 10 catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.
Semana 3
New York Jets at Detroit Lions | Sunday, September 27 | 1:00 PM ET | Ford Field, Detroit, MI
New York is a road underdog, priced at +250 on the moneyline against Detroit’s -310, with the Lions favored by 6.5 points and the total set at 47.5. Detroit is looking to rebound after its 41-31 loss to Buffalo, and the line suggests the market expects a much sharper Lions team at home than the one that showed up in Week 2.
A tough road test for a Jets team that has now played two competitive games decided in the final minutes.
Week 2 Recap
Jets 17, Packers 20 (OT) | Sunday, September 20 | MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
New York’s defense forced overtime with a late stop, but Green Bay’s pass rush came alive in the extra period and Jordan Love led the Packers to the winning field goal. The Jets fell to 1-1 in a game they led for much of the second half before Green Bay’s late push evened it up.
Semana 2
Green Bay Packers at New York Jets | Sunday, September 20 | 1:00 PM ET | MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
New York is a home underdog for its opener at MetLife Stadium, priced at +180 on the moneyline against Green Bay’s -218, with the Packers favored by 4.5 points and the total set at 43.5. Green Bay enters off a rough 39-22 loss at Minnesota and will be looking to bounce back on the road against a Jets team that looked far sharper than its record suggested a year ago.
A get-well opportunity for New York’s home opener against a Packers team that opened its own season on a sour note.
Resumo da 1ª semana
Jets 23, Titans 10 | Sunday, September 13 | Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN
New York dominated from the opening drive, with Breece Hall rushing for 102 yards and the defense holding Tennessee to 195 total yards in a 23-10 win over Robert Saleh’s Titans, the Jets’ first season-opening win since 2018. Geno Smith was efficient in his Jets debut, and the 13-point margin was New York’s largest since Week 3 of 2024.
Semana 1
Jets at Tennessee Titans | Sunday, September 13 | 1:00 PM ET | Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN
New York opens as a road underdog, priced at +142 on the moneyline against Tennessee’s -170, with the Titans favored by 3 and the total set at a league-low 39.5 points. The Titans are now coached by Robert Saleh, who ran the Jets from 2021 to 2024, adding a natural storyline to the lowest-scoring matchup on the Week 1 board.
Two teams that finished among the league’s worst in scoring last season open against each other, and neither offense is expected to change that trend in Week 1.
Chances de ganhar a divisão e o Super Bowl
Probabilidades de ganhar na AFC East: +2000
Chances de ganhar o Super Bowl: +12500
Previsões
Registro geral: The Jets are projected to finish around 5-12, roughly in line with their 5.5 win total.
Chances de playoff: Among the longest odds in the conference to make the postseason
Chances do Super Bowl: Não é um fator realista em 2026.
New York has better bones than it did a year ago, especially up front, but a rebuilding defense and a new-look coaching staff still finding its footing make it a long climb back to relevance. Expect incremental progress under Glenn, with the Jets still trailing the Bills, Patriots, and even Miami’s rebuild timeline in the division race.
