Phoenix Suns (114) vs. Philadelphia 76ers (104) – Results

The Philadelphia 76ers fell from first to the fourth position in the NBA Eastern Conference. They lost this Sunday 114-104 against the undisputed leaders of the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns, in an exciting game in which Joel Embiid scored 37 points and Devin Booker 35.

The 76ers, who currently have a record of 46-28, after winning their last three games, reached the first position on Saturday thanks to the defeats of the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat, but their lead lasted less than 24 hours.

First Quarters

The game began and ended as a duel between Embiid and Booker, who in the first two minutes were the only ones to score, the Cameroonian with 6 points and the Suns shooting guard with 7. In the middle of the first quarter, Booker scored three consecutive baskets in half a minute, which defended the leadership of the locals.

Then, In the last minutes of the first quarter, James Harden began to hurt, inspiring Embiid who with 62 seconds left in this quarter, reached 15 points.

In this first quarter, Joel Embiid stood out for the Sixers with 15 points, while for the Suns, Devin Booker with 22.

The second quarter began with the team led by Doc Rivers even more motivated, seeing themselves winning the game against the best team in the league and Conference leaders, although their spirit would not last long.

An especially inspired Harris made the difference for the 76ers during the first 3 and a half minutes of the quarter, reaching 15 points and serving several assists that opened the gap (37-51).

At the end of the quarter, Landry Shamet, with a triple and a dunk, continued to encourage the Suns’ comeback (57-62), with Booker missing in the segment and Embiid reaching 19 points in a quarter that ended 60- 64 after 3-pointer by Jae Crowder.

Second Half

In the third quarter, the game turned into a tremendous back and forth, changing leadership every minute of the game. The protagonists of the game were still the same, Devin Booker on one side and Joel Embiid on the other, who was carrying their team’s offense in each of the plays. The third quarter ended with a score of 91-86 in favor of the Suns.

Finally, in the last quarter the same trend was marked, but this time with a more assertive Booker and with the help of his teammates they were able to get ahead on the scoreboard until the end of the match that ended with a score of 114-104.
