The Chiefs were underdogs for a good chunk of the postseason, but after managing a very close 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, proved again that they are the most fearsome franchise in the NFL’s recent history.

For their part, the 49ers staged an epic comeback and defeated the Detroit Lions 34-31 in a remarkable performance by Christian McCaffrey.

Why Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs had a regular season with a level that allowed them to finish at the top of their division and qualify for the Playoffs. But the feeling was that Patrick Mahomes was suddenly not going to make it to the Super Bowl this year.

The Miami Dolphins were not a problem, the Buffalo Bills were also crossed out, and when it seemed their Achilles heel would be the Baltimore Ravens (the best team of the regular phase), they defeated them in the American Conference final by 17-10.

Mahomes was fine, with 30 of 39 successful passes, 241 yards, and one touchdown pass. He was not intercepted on any occasion. Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco recorded touchdowns. Kicker Harrison Butker contributed five points, and defensively, Deon Bush had an interception.

Statistically, some teams put up better numbers than the Chiefs, but this franchise has a plus, hierarchy. In this Mahomes era, it is their fourth Super Bowl game, and they are going for their third title. They won in 2020 against the 49ers and 2023 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Mahomes’ only loss at this stage was in 2021 against Tom Brady and the Tamba Bay Buccaneers. The quarterback is the best player in the league, and his experience is a differential factor, which was demonstrated in the other series.

Currently, Jeric McKinnon and Skyy More are injured and waiting to play.

Why Bet on the San Francisco 49ers?

The San Francisco 49ers were armed to reach the Super Bowl, they trusted that Brock Purdy would return to his best level, and the goal was achieved.

In the National Conference final, they defeated the Detroit Lions 34-31, staging an excellent comeback. At the end of the first two quarters, they were down 24-7, but with a 17-0 run in the third quarter, they evened the score. In the final frame, they scored ten more points and ended up giving their home crowd a treat.

Even though he was intercepted once, Brock Purdy found a way to contribute with his five carries, advancing a total of 48 yards, the fifth-best figure of the entire team. With his passing, he racked up another 267 yards while assisting for a touchdown.

But the night had a hero: Christian McCaffrey, who had 20 carries, scored 90 yards and finished with two touchdowns. Elijah Mitchell and Brandon Aiyuk contributed one more touchdown each.

San Francisco has not been an NFL champion since 1995, making it a 29-year drought. As said before, this is a remake of the 2020 edition, so they are thirsty for revenge.

Kalia Davis and Clelin Ferrell are injured.

Super Bowl LVIII Final Betting Analysis: Chiefs vs. 49ers

The win in 2020 went to Kansas by 31-20, with Mahomes being chosen as MVP. Since then, the Chiefs have reached (and won) another final, while the 49ers come from breaking a streak of three Conference Finals losses in a row.

These two teams are from different conferences, so they don’t face that quite often. With less than 20 games played between these two in history, Kansas leads the record by 8-7, with their last game being a victory for them in 2022.

The last win for San Francisco in this matchup came in 2014, long before the current projects from both teams were close to being born.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have the 49ers as the favorite. The Moneyline for them shows 1.75, while the Chiefs have 2.1.

The 49ers have all the tools to take advantage of the first quarters, and they’ll probably want to do so. It’s no lie that making a comeback against a franchise like the Chiefs is a much different issue than against the inexperienced Lions. However, we doubt they’ll be capable of holding that advantage until the end. We have seen plenty of comebacks in the Super Bowl in recent times, with the teams ahead failing to maintain the tempo. This is what will happen this time as well, with Kansas City as the protagonist, again.

We’ll go for a 27-24 victory for Mahomes and Co.

Go for a win in the Chiefs’ Moneyline. If you bet $100 at 2.1, you will gain $110 for a total payout of $210.
