Last Updated on January 12, 2024 5:30 pm by Erwin Noguera

The NFL regular season met its end last week, and the first postseason game will take place in the American Conference Wild Card. The Houston Texans will face the Cleveland Browns.

The Texans won the South Division in their last game, a 29-19 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

In the North Division, the most evenly matched, the Cleveland Browns finished in second place and ended the regular season with a 31-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

These two teams are among the surprises this season. In the last edition, they were among the worst teams in all of the NFL, finishing last in their divisions, and now meet at the big party.

Why Bet on Houston Texans?

The Houston Texans reached the last week of the regular season on the outside of the Playoffs. However, the results went in their favor, and they were the American Conference South Division champions.

The key duel ended with a 23-19 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, in a good night for quarterback C.J. Stroud, who finished with 20 of 26 passes, 264 yards rushing, and two touchdown assists. At just 22 years old, the young talent proved he is among the league’s best. His regular season ended with 4,108 yards, 23 passing touchdowns, and only five interceptions.

There is no doubt that Stroud has the future of this team in his hands, but now he will have to face a different scenario as a rookie, as opponents raise the level in this instance.

Houston finished with a 10-7 record, and their matches against teams from the same conference were 7-5. The downside for this franchise is that their point total was 377, the second worst mark among the qualified teams. However, it is the third-best defense.

Outside of the team right now are Robert Woods, Jonathan Greenard, and Noah Brown. Jerry Hughes is listed as questionable.

Why Bet on the Cleveland Browns?

The Cleveland Browns achieved the feat of qualifying in an evenly matched North division and did so in second place, with a record of 11 wins and only six losses.

However, they closed the regular season with a 31-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, which did not change the standings. That day, the quarterback was Jeff Driskel, who finished with two interceptions and completed 13 of 26 passes.

However, the team’s starter at quarterback is 38-year-old Joe Flacco, who is in his first season with the Cleveland franchise. So far, he has thrown 13 touchdown passes, 1,616 yards, and has had eight interceptions. Not great numbers compared to others in his position, but he already has a Super Bowl title behind him.

A fact to keep in mind is that since his debut with the Browns, Flacco made his club the team with more passes achieved (204), more yards (1,616,) and more touchdown passes (13). His record is 5-0 in Wild Card plays.

Amari Cooper, Mike Ford, Myles Garrett, Dustin Hopkins, Greg Newsome II, and Juan Thornhill left the team.

Final Betting Analysis: Texans vs. Browns

The only game they played this season ended 36-22 in favor of Cleveland. Both teams had similar numbers in the NFL, although the Browns achieved it in a much more competitive division.

The numbers at Gambyl Exchange have the Browns as favorites. The Moneyline for them shows 1.72, while the Texans have 2.13.

Although it will be played at the home of the Houston Texans, the win will end up going to the Cleveland Browns, who have more talent and the experience of a great quarterback like Joe Flacco.

Go for a win in the Browns’ Moneyline. If you bet $100 at 1.72, you will gain $72 for a total payout of $172.
