NFL Week 14 – Roundup and Results

Last Updated on December 13, 2022 1:45 pm by Erwin Noguera

The 2022-23 NFL season is already approaching its final stretch, and this only means that teams no longer have a margin for error, and letting go of victories from now on could leave them out of the playoffs.

After 14 weeks, it is already evident which teams we will continue to see after January 8th, and unfortunately for Texans, Broncos, and Bears fans, that will not be the case.

The Philadelphia Eagles became the first team to qualify for the playoffs in the National Conference after crushing the New York Giants by a score of 48-22.

With this victory, the Eagles now have a magnificent 12-1 record in the NFC East, making them the absolute owners of this division, as the Giants, Washington, and the Cowboys can no longer catch them.

The Bills and Chiefs are still on track to qualify, and with four games left to play, they would only have to secure a win in 2 of them to do so.

San Francisco continues to be inspired, and with their sixth win in a row, they are still clinging to first place in the NFC West and want to be one of the guests of honor for the postseason party.

Finally, the Vikings squandered the golden opportunity; they had to be closer to the classification.

When:

Sunday, December 11th at 01:00 pm ET at the Highmark Stadium.

Moneyline odds:

Bills -469

Jets +340

Josh Allen threw one touchdown pass and ran for another on consecutive possessions, and the Buffalo Bills withstood wet, bitterly cold, and gusty weather to defeat a banged-up Mike White and the AFC East-rival New York Jets 20-12 on Sunday.

Allen’s 24-yard pass to Knox in the final minutes of the second quarter led Buffalo to put up points on consecutive offensive series, capped by a pair of Tyler Bass field goals, including a 49-yarder.

The AFC-leading Bills (10-3) won for the fourth straight time and are closer than ever to clinching a postseason berth.

Meanwhile, the Jets have lost four of their last six games in a tremendous slump in their chances of advancing to the playoffs.

Result: Bills (20) – (12) Jets

NFL Week 14 – Lions vs. Vikings – Betting Odds & Free Pick – Info

When:

Sunday, December 11th at 01:00 pm ET at the Ford Field.

Moneyline odds:

Lions -136

Vikings +111

Jared Goff and the Lions snatched glory at home from the Minnesota Vikings, who lead the NFL’s NFC North, with an excellent 34-23 victory.

Goff was the central figure for Detroit, throwing for 330 yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense of the resurgent Lions, who want to fight for the wild card to advance to the postseason.

The Vikings (10-3) needed a win or a tie to clinch the division title. Kirk Cousins passed for 425 yards, including 223 to Justin Jefferson, but Dalvin Cook only rushed for 23 yards on 15 carries, and Minnesota couldn’t stop Goff.

The Lions invested heavily to surround Goff with great players, signing DJ Chark in free agency and moving up in the draft to take Jameson Williams with the 12th overall pick.

Detroit (6-7) has won five of its last six games played, their best streak since the last qualifying for the postseason in the 2016 season.

Result: Lions (34) – (23) Vikings

NFL Week 14 – Chargers vs. Dolphins– Betting Odds & Free Pick – Info

When:

Sunday, December 11th at 08:20 pm ET at the SoFi Stadium

Moneyline odds:

Chargers +135

Dolphins -166

The Los Angeles Chargers kept their playoff chances alive with a 23-17 home victory over the Miami Dolphins. Justin Herbert convinced the crazy fans with an impeccable performance, while the visitors’ offense was almost completely nullified.

The Chargers’ defense allowed almost nothing in this game. While the Dolphins did get two touchdowns, they were casual products, along with the individual class of Tyreek Hill.

Justin Herbert was under a lot of pressure from the aggressive Dolphins’ defense, but he always found ways to break free and also found the spaces created to deliver accurate passes.

Tagovailoa was the deception for the Dolphins, as the quarterback loves to distribute the ball quickly, especially over the middle.

But the excellent defense by the Chargers disrupted his timing, and he rarely got it done. He was wildly inaccurate, completing only ten passes out of 28 for 145 yards. Although he made no significant mistakes, this offense only works if the playmakers are staged.

Result: Chargers (23) – (17) Dolphins
