The matchday 10 of the 2022 Liga MX opening tournament has come to an end and, last weekend, there were several important and, above all, surprising results that made the standings move in all areas.

For the start of Matchday 11, Monterrey will be the sole leader of the general classification table, with one less game played than Toluca. Tigres continues to lie in wait for the first two places, along with América, which continues to be unstoppable, and Santos Laguna, which has also awakened.

As we pointed out in our Liga MX Matchday 10 article, the match between Tigres UANL and Monterrey, which was to be the most evenly matched of the day, ended in a 0-0 draw.

The day that paralyzed the state of Nuevo León had arrived, the Clásico Regio; Tigres and Monterrey faced each other in the 128th edition of this classic.

Atlas continues in its bad moment and even though this time they did not lose, they could not boast the return to winning ways, after tying 1-1 against Puebla at the Jalisco Stadium, thanks to the defensive skills of Anderson Santamaría, who became the hero of the match.

The only one who keeps raising his hand and trying to carry Atlas is Julián Quiñones, who scored the equalizer in the 45th minute, just before the end of the first half.

Before that, Puebla had opened the scoring in the 11th minute thanks to Martín Barragán’s goal, applying the law of the ex, since Barragán comes from Atlas youth academy.

After this result, Atlas scored its 9th point out of a possible 30, putting its possible qualification to the playoffs, or at least to the playoff zone, even more in jeopardy.

One of the most eagerly awaited matches for Mexican soccer fans, especially in its capital, Mexico City, between Cruz Azul and América ended with an impressive 7-0 score in favor of América.

América crushed Cruz Azul on Saturday, its biggest win over its historic rival, to reach 16 points and move up to fourth place in the standings. Before Saturday’s match, America’s biggest win over Cruz Azul was a 5-0 victory in the 1981-1982 season.

Pachuca returned to winning ways this Sunday in the match that closed day 10 of the Apertura 2022 against León at the Hidalgo Stadium, with a solitary goal in the final minutes by the young homegrown player Israel Luna.

The match began with an intense rhythm, which was diluted as time went by, thanks to the fact that the priority was to defend in the best possible way. The first 45 minutes passed and the teams went to the break with a lackluster goalless draw.

Until the final minutes, the star of the match was León’s goalkeeper, Rodolfo Cota, whose saves had prevented Pachuca from taking the lead.
