Betting Analysis: Reds vs. Braves

Cincinnati Reds

Cincinnati completed their spring training games with four consecutive wins and is looking to keep that momentum as the 2022-23 season kicks off.

The Reds are batting at an average of .294, to go along with an on-base percentage of .367, a total of 110 runs batted in, and 31 home runs.

Moreover, Cincinnati boasts an ERA of 4.24 with a WHIP of 1.37.

In this Thursday’s match, Tyler Mahle will hit the mound as the Reds’ starting pitcher against the Atlanta Braves

The right-handed slugger holds a 13-6 record, along with an ERA of 3.75, a WHIP of 1.23, and 210 strikeouts in total.

Atlanta Braves

On the side of the Atlanta Braves, the team was hailed as the world champion after completing the series four games to two.

Atlanta is coming off a two-game winning streak last spring and is looking to claim their first win for this season.

The Braves posted an ERA of 4.22, to go with a WHIP of 1.24 and a total of 147 strikeouts.

In the batting department, Atlanta carries an average of .247 with 134 hits, 67 runs batted in, and 17 home runs all in all.

For Thursday’s game, Atlanta will send in Max Fred to start for the team.

Leading the Braves is catcher Travis D’Arnaud, who is batting at an average of .353, including five RBIs, and three home runs, while right fielder Adam Duvall had an average of .370 with seven RBIs and a single home run.

Prediction

The Braves will also feature a lineup that might be improved despite losing former NL MVP Freddie Freeman.

Olson’s power numbers are very comparable to Freeman’s and his defense is also on par.

The Reds have had their corner outfield spots completely decimated by trades and free agency and will lean heavily on aging players Votto and Mike Moustakas.

Mahle is a solid, if not spectacular pitcher but will be tasked with taking on the Braves’ deep and talented lineup while likely being on a pitch count as well.

Max Fried should get the Braves into the sixth inning and turn the ball over to perhaps the league’s most talented bullpen.
