Premier League Matchday 6 – Roundup and Results

Last Updated on September 5, 2022 9:38 pm by Erwin Noguera

The matchday 6 of the Premier League was very interesting because we were able to see some rare results this season. Arsenal, after 5 straight wins, was finally beaten. They faced a renewed, motivated, and growing Manchester United in the league: 3-1 to the Red Devils. Even with the defeat, Arsenal remained at the top of the table with 15 points, while United reached fifth place with 12 points after 4 straight wins in the PL.

Manchester City, the team that has scored the most goals so far in the Premier League (20), failed to score more than one against Aston Villa to secure the victory and drew the match, 1-1, with the hosts. Pep Guardiola’s team remains in second place, adding 14 points and going on in pursuit of Arsenal.

Tottenham beat Fulham 2-1 and won third place in the table, having scored 12 goals and conceded 5.

In fourth place, Brighton returned to their positive streak and made it 5-2 at Leicester (20th), remaining at the top of the table, contrary to experts’ predictions.

Chelsea reached 10 points after beating West Ham 2-1 in a very even game at Stamford Bridge. Coach Thomas Tuchel’s team conceded nine goals and scored eight. They need to improve their defense if they want to fight for the Premier League title this season.

Premier League Matchday 6

Liverpool, who were coming off two straight wins, could not get out of the 0-0 draw against Everton, reaching only a humble ninth place in the Premier League, while their last opponent was in 16th place – a position well below the club’s expectations.

West Ham, Nottingham Forest, and Leicester are the three worst teams in the competition and, if we add up their points (9), they would only be in seventh place.

The dispute remains intense and Arsenal seems to be the main challenger for Manchester City’s title. Only time will tell if the current leader will have the breath to stay at the top and if Manchester United will return to being the giant they always were.
